Despite these guys being the scum of the earth they still get some grudging admiration for pulling off their escape and staying free so long.

I know, I feel the same way. Awful guys who deserve to be locked up but I can't help but be impressed that they managed to stay away for so long and I was wrong to think they had made it far, so they really lived all this time in close proximity to hundreds of cops going for them.

This story really irritates me beyond words.

Nearly all prisoners that are desperate enough to escape are "dangerous." If they weren't dangerous, they probably wouldn't be doing the kind of time that makes a man desperate enough to throw the rest of his life away and live in hiding (or extend his sentence / lose privileges if re-captured). Why hasn't nearly every prison escape in history had this kind of media attention? There have been escapes in my town and people didn't go nuts over it.

The news reports make it sound like these guys might go on a killing spree and we should all be terrified for our lives. You know what a wanted man does when he gets away and finally stops running? He lays low.

People think the drama of the manipulated woman accomplice makes this interesting. I dunno. Sounds pretty typical to me. This might warrant some informative murder-porn "documentary" on Investigation Discovery or something (you know, with sensationalized reenactments). Not all this bullshit.

I wonder what their original plan was before the woman changed her mind and didn't pick them up? The detailed planning they put in just to escape would indicate they probably had good planning on how to stay free. If they had the 7 hours of free time with her car they could have increased the search area immensely, increasing their escape odds.

I hate these guys, for the sole reason that I kept getting breaking news alerts about every spotting in the area. None of the spottings were them...

I talked to a State Trooper who was called up there with his search K-9, he said they were more concerned about who helped the men escape rather than finding the guys.

Frozen is what I'd read. I glanced at an article that was going on about how prisoners were allowed to tap into electrical boxes in order to cook food. George Foreman grills or what I don't know. But the problem with being able to plug in their cooking devices was that the electrical boxes are in catwalks which were utilized in their escape.

There needs to be a major overhaul in the systems in place at the Clinton Correctional Facility. The Warden needs to be fired along with as many guards are as necessary to both rid the place of the corrupt ones and to make a point. I'm betting they're unionized so none of that will happen but lax procedures along with an erosion of the roles of guards as they interact with prisoners resulted in these two breaking out.

I read that the price tag associated with the manhunt for these two was one million per day.
