I'm sorry, but you are a fvcking idiot if you actually take posts on a forum seriously. If you take my case as an example, sure, tons of people have replied negatively towards my posts, but I never take it seriously. I'm able to see beyond it; ATOT is built on the foundations of negative thinking and smart-assery. That?s its nature.

You truly are a pathetic creature if words transmitted over a computer screen have a negative impact upon your everyday life. Looking back at my post, I would think you would probably also take it as another reason to continue untrammeled in your egotistic philosophy that only serves to further your overly immature and downright juvenile lust for angst. In that case, go kill yourself right now; or wait until you actually grow up and realize how incredibly ridiculous you are acting.

You may think that the people here don?t understand how you feel, they are ?automatons? as you would say. You would argue that we could not possibly understand the circumstances which your life has transpired. You believe you are the only person in the world that is right, and others are ?sheep? following the herder. You think of everyone as if you are on the outside looking in at them, fools, you think. Products of the system. And then you take your thoughts and beliefs and write about them, which proves only one thing; not only are you egotistical, but you are also very insecure about yourself.

One day when you (hopefully) grow up, you will laugh at this piece of writing, and then regret the decisions you made as a mindless adolescent. You will at that point realize that these slaves to the system, these machines, these sheep, these automatons, these normal people, the ones that actually went to the prom, did not go because they were conditioned to do so, but rather went out to enjoy themselves. But I guess you would have to know the meaning of enjoyment first to understand where they stand.

Get used to this kind of treatment. And realize:
1. Right now, you're a dick. This may pass. Seriously, I've seen it happen. A couple years can do wonders for one's manners.

This is definitely my last time I visit here. This forum has done nothing for me except make me feel horrible about myself and deepen my misanthropy. I hope I never meet any of you or people alike because I never suspected people out there to be so horrid and heartless. Yes there are the kind ones and I can't express how grateful I am for you being sensible but the majority of you I classify as horrible people that like to kick people when they're down to try and get them to stand up. I showed many people what gets posted on here and they can't believe it. This forum is also the reason I got out of technology because it does something to human hearts. I've noticied that all techys are alike: oblivious to human feeling and only see the science of things, disregarding consideration for others entirely. I don't want to know people like that.

When I was asked why I wouldn't attend these functions, I simply replied, that I wasn't interested. If anyone pressed for an explanation after that, they were ignored. Well, maybe they were referred to as sheep, I can't remember, but they didn't press after that.

I made it through school without attending a single function of that nature. To this day, I don't regret it. However, my wife dragged me to her Homecoming and Prom at her school, after I'd graduated. To this day, I STILL regret it. Quite the waste of time and money, and for what?

I've never attended a school reunion, and certainly don't regret that. Don't forget, these are probably the same sheep who root for sports teams, and wear the team's colors on game weekends. Do you REALLY care what they think, one way or the other? Suit yourself, but to me their opinion's of my actions are like water off a duck's back.

I skimmed the first page. You're going through the same thing millions of other teens have gone through. You decided to write a 4 page essay on a _DANCE_. To you it may seem important, but it's not. When you grow up and leave the phase of teenage angst, which you've so eagerly embraced - like millions before you - you'll realize that you wasted an evening writing an essay. You said you're not interested and don't care in the prom, but you're frustrated enough to write a heated 4 page essay about something you don't care about.

Like teens before you, and teens who will come after you, you're angry at certain things in your life and hate where you are. Reading what I'm writing would probably frustrate you even more - "You just don't get it, Skoorb!", but that's not true. I get it, I just grew out of it. You will too. Just don't kill yourself before you do, because when you do grow out of this phase you'll be embarassed at how you thought it was so important.

I know I post weird sh!t on here but this is the only place, the ONLY place that ever says I'm some stupid teen that doesn't know jack sh!t, that needs to grow up out of this depression bullsh!t and has this infamous "teen angst" crap you all love to throw at me. I had about fifty people read that essay and I got nothing but positive responses. It was from people on the internet to people I live around.

Of course, people who know you won't tell you that you just wasted your time. You will grow out of it. I've spent my time in teenage depression too. It's a total fvcking waste of time, but unfortunately as with depression one can't see that while they are enshrouded by it.

I agree with Ornery that too much is made of these things. I hate social functions like this too. They're a big stress-fest and people make them out to be more than they are. But, there is a difference between not being interested and not going, and not being interested and not going and then writing a 4 page fury-laden teenage-woe letter about it.

I've seen MANY people waste more than a few hours, putting together jigsaw puzzles, or playing Quake. He obviously gets a kick out of writing, and it's a great exercise. Not to mention, he can throw it in the face of the librarians, as well as anyone else who asked about his choice. He seems to be getting a LOT more mileage out of it, than the hours wasted struggling with a puzzle, playing Quake or watching a stupid ball game!

I think your writing is overly-stylized. You need to pay more attention to what the words MEAN than how intelligent they make you sound. I knew what your writing style would be as soon as I saw the title. You obviously read a lot and have a reasonable vocabulary, but you don't HAVE to use every word you want to.

Most high school kids view prom as darn near the most important event in their entire lives. A few years later, you realize it's one of the most inconsequential and unimportant events in your entire life. High school is not life.

How did everyone else get it so their life was good? Instead of crying for themselves, they took control of their lives, did what they could, and made the best of it. In the beginning, we're all given the same thing. It's how you use it that matters. Quit your whining and crying about how society isn't good, or how you're better than 'this society that exists today' and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. You can have just as much fun as everyone else, and have just as many friends with whom there is a mutual respect, if you just try. In all seriosness ... (hmm ... obviously I am not the writer that you are) ... I didnt have many friends in high school ... I would say that I had 1 good one and then nothing more than aquantinces. Never went to parties, never had a girlfriend, didnt go to prom, nothing. But then when college came around, it was so much easier, the people just grew up, they are more laid back, I made freinds, got girlfriends, went to parties, etc. Your day will come ... I was a late bloomer too.

A lot of people on here are heartless. Just remember you are better than them, because you have a heart, which is quite evident in your writing. I respect and like your writing. I am a writer myself. All I can say is who cares what some of these people think. I don't think you should leave because of them. You're better than that. Just ignore them and remember there are some people on here that do have hearts and enjoyed your writings. I read your poetry section, and liked it very much.

Your writing ability leaves MUCH to be desired. It sounds like you just used a thesaurus throughout the entire thing--it's absolutely abysmal. First, I'd work on you writing, then I'd work on your social skills.
