You can run Prime from this without having to install Windows. May not be as good as the Windows version because you can't change any settings, but it's good for rough testing. It also has a few other benchmark/torture tests, plus a few versions of Memtest. I've found it very handy.

I like rthdribl v1.2. It's usually the last stability test I do on all my systems. IMO, if you can loop this suite of graphic intensive, heat producing renders, you have a solid system.

Rthdribl is particularly helpful at finding max video card clocks too because it's very sensitive at producing very slight artifacts. As you inch up the GPU/texture mem clock, you'll know you've gone too far when artifacts start appearing.

nice. that A64Tweaker comes in handy for me because for me to overclock my cpu I had to run my memory slower because of the memory divider. There wasn't a memory divider to run my memory full speed but this program will make it happen.

when I try using a non-standard divider in A64Tweaker it locks up on startup. Why is that/

what board do you have and what deviders are you using? I have heard of many people having problems with certain boards not being able to handle certain dividers and their system hanging on startup or getting a BSOD message that their hardware is not working correctly.

Ah dammit! First it was AIDA32, quite full featured. Then it became Everest, which did away with the plugins. Then v2.0 of Everest removed the Operating System tools. Now it's not freeware anymore. Lovely.

I have an Epox 9npa+ (nforce4ultra).

The standard dividers are 100, 133, 166, 200. I tried using 150. No luck.

It usually weeds out an unstable CPU faster than Prime. Uses the GROMACS thing for strictly stress testing purposes. Whoever whines about Prime95 failing no matter what might want to try this...

Soltek link is borked ... it looks like Soltek has ditched the US .com domain, as the world links are still valid, but for those (like me) with a Soltek board, this kinda stinks. Thumbs up for the post.

I fixed the link with their world site, except that seems to be down at the moment also...If it continues to time out i will find another site that has information on SolTek's SmartDoc

TheSurge I am still researching to find the answer to your problem, as I do not have that board, but I have found instances where that board has locked up on unstandard memory dividers, just not 150...to fix the problem they had to change their divider back to another standard one, but i could be mistaken and your problem could be somehwere else...

thanks for the help. luckily, I can run a 5:6 divider with my VS ram, now... so I need not worry about non-standard dividers.
