CC has this Estes Sky Rangers Sizzlin' Radio Control Jet

$33.74 is kinda good for a jet RC.

Now for the trash:
What's crash resistant foam?
Is 1,000' enough?
Glider or does it accually flys? (last time I bought a glider, it was horrible when there is any wind)

Any1 with RC experience care to share some light on this deal?

Thanks.

Nope. From here:

Power comes from a super thrust producing Speed 300 electric jet engine. Control is a solid state, single channel control that has a range of 750 feet.

I have a similar type of RC delta wing air plane I picked up years ago. They work pretty well. Don't expect to be able to do any real stunts. The one I have has one speed....fast. You charge up the batteries, hook it into the plane's chasis, switch it on and let it go. It sounds like a blow dryer as it flies through the air. Since you only have one channel, you can control the rudder to turn it left or right. Elevation is controlled by how sharp you turn the plane. The higher the turn speed, the more elevation it looses. Straighten it out, and you gain elevation. It's a fun little park flyer. Eventually, the charge starts to run out and you can hear the fan start to whine down. Before you know it, the plane starts loosing elevation gradually. Good plane to start with if you are planning in getting into RC airplanes. They take a pretty good beating including the occasional cartwheel landings. Don't do so well with direct impact into to play ground equipment and trees.

This is not a $25 gift card. If you go to dealamerica.com, it said that it's a 25% off gift card for Toys only for next purchase. So it is not nearly as good as $25 gift card.

Forget it.

The engine out of this thing might be worth having to put in another plane, even if it is an electric fan and not a true jet.

I fly RC airplanes, and know a thing or two about them.
First, this is a pretty simple airplane. It only has ONE CONTROL, most likely the rudder. You can't control anything else, which means that it's not so much remote control as remote poking-it-with-a-stick. The body, which looks like EPP, should be of good quality however; if you replaced the innards with a brushless (gobrushless.com has kits for 8$) EDF and threw in some GWS gear you could get it flying pretty fast.
If you really want a fast, aerobatic plane that is also durable, you might want to look into a Zagi flying wing. They cost a bit more (300$ for a basic setup), but they allow you do do a plethora of acrobatics, and you only pay 50$ for a new plane if you break it. (compared to 100$ for a replacement plane). If you want something a bit more easy to fly (or cheaper), look into the EasyStar at hobbypeople.net. A little while ago, they were running a promotion on this nearly indestructible plane that included everything you need for 160$. For smaller planes, look at GWS-I am currently flying a GWS Pico Cub, and it's a really nice little plane for the money. (35$ including motor, gearbox, wheels, pushrods, and cowling!)
Hope my blathering did'nt bore you,
Cheesehead.
