Almost positive I used Mist wallet over a year ago to generate these addresses.

I'm assuming you have the private keys then or backup files, correct? Or are at least still have Mist on the computers used to generate the addresses. If you have the keys or backup files, it's easy to import them into Mist or MyEtherWallet, or pretty much any Ethereum wallet software (I prefer those two, though there are other apps and sites) and send to an exchange address and convert to Bitcoin or fiat currency to cash out.

If you don't have an exchange account yet, I suggest making one now and play around with it, maybe using a small amount of ether if you can.

Some sites (e.g. Coinbase) will make you go through a lot of verification hoops if you intend to withdraw to USD or other "real" currency, and you can save yourself some time by testing it now rather than waiting until it's time to sell.

I have the unencrypted and encrypted json files

I just downloaded mist wallet and when I launch it without running as an admin, it shows that I need to download 2 million more blocks but is stuck and won't download more. If I launch the wallet, it shows my wallet addresses with outdated amounts of ethereum in them as I have earned more.

But if I launch the mist wallet as an admin, it starts to download the 2 million new blocks but when I launch the wallet while updating as admin, it shows different addresses that don't have any ether.

What's goin on here?

You're in good shape, then. Very easy to import a JSON file into Mist or MyEtherWallet (client side, and safe as far as I know). Click the "Send Ether & Tokens" tab at the top. Since you have two wallets, you can test it by sending ether from one of your wallets to the other and back again.

It has to sync fully in order to process all the transactions in the blockchain. This is one reason some people prefer to use web or "light" wallets, which don't require the whole blockchain to be downloaded. It won't display the correct amount of ether until it's fully synced, and after that you can attempt a send transaction if you need to.

Running as admin versus non-admin will show different addresses because it's using two different wallet data stores located in separate folders (dependent on user name, e.g. C:\Users\Crono\AppData\Roaming\Ethereum vs C:\Users\CronoAdmin\AppData\Roaming\Ethereum). Don't run as admin if it doesn't show the correct addresses, as that's essentially a new/different wallet.

What speeds are you getting with 1070s on zcash and eth? At what speeds?

Trying to figure out if my 2 1070s are doing alright.

Thank you for all your help. Any idea why the Mist wallet won't sync when launched normal without admin privileges?

If you have enough peers, it should sync without a problem, and I don't think it requires admin privileges to do so. I installed Mist yesterday for the first in about a year, took about 20 minutes to sync without issue. Make sure you have enough space, as the blockchain takes ~16GB. Try deleting and reinstalling the wallet if it hasn't synced after an hour or two.

So I just purchased a Four GPU mining kit from GPUShack and I can't seem to get it to turn on. I know the that you need to touch the two power pins together with a metal object, but when I do that the fans spin up for a second then turn off.

What is the issue here? Everything is new from all the components to the power supply.

UPDATE: So for some reason my spare 750w Corsair power supply booted up the mining rig without an issue. I really don't understand why the Corsair would work and the EVGA would not.

I could leave it for 20 days and the dang thing wouldn't sync.

Thanks for the info!

also, my cards are set to run etherium and zcash.. which ever is more profitable at the time. I'm using nicehash miner to mine most profitable coin. I'm trying to optimize them to switch between them. I haven't tried optimizing them for multipoolminer yet. I'll probably do that this weekend with one of my setups. I'm hoping to pick up a 1080ti this weekend to start playing with it also.

running them at +650 for mem seems to be the sweet spot for stability with +100 core and 70% power limit
I've been running them at +100/+100 and 60% power limit and getting 430-440sol/s using EWBF miner. At that point the program is saying it is using ~110w per card, but don't know what that translates to at the wall.

my power draw at the wall is 520 for the four cards combined per the wattmeter... my msi cards draw more power than my evga cards.

How do you get ewbf miner to show how much power they are using? Also, do you tune clocks/power through that or with afterburner/precision?
