i've been having issues with the monitor sometimes not receiving signal after being turned off for a while. i discovered that turning it off and then back on again usually fixed it (the computer wasn't hung, i could still remote into it). i thought it was maybe the displayport on the monitor going bad.
over thanksgiving something happened and the computer crashed. restarted it, started mining, came back a few minutes later to the fans at 100% and the computer not-responsive. cycled the power and nothing came up. no bios screen or anything. swapped to hdmi, still didn't come on. remoted in and it was stuck at 800x600 instead of 4k like usual.
so, out went one hawaii and in went another (thought the second was faulty so it's been laying around a while). still no signal. thought maybe i'd try swapping pci-e slots, but poked around on the internet and saw that some people had no signal due to power issues. swapped from one set of pci-e cables to another, and a different port on the power supply, and walla, signal.
however, now its mining at 12 mh/s instead of ~28. still pulling down ~200 watts from the wall to do so. clocks look right in the amd control panel. obv, i'm not about to spend 200 watts for 12 mh/s.
i've got a new power supply on the way already (seasonic focus plus), any thoughts as to other steps i might take?
Get into safe mode and run Display Driver Uninstaller, remove all related video card drivers and start over. Add in one card at a time. Ensure your primary display device is set correctly in the BIOS. Pick up an HDMI dummy plug if you don't already have one and plug it into your primary card.
