All,
I could not find an answer to this specific question...but I'd have to guess it wouldn't work.
I have an external drive (Vantec Case that has eSATA and USB 2.0 w/Hitachi 1TB drive)...but it does not have an Ethernet jack. I want to place it on my network as a standalone drive for backups and easy access without having to have the drive connected to a computer.
My router doesn't have a USB port on it either...so that's also not a possibility, and before anyone says it...I don't want to replace my router.
What I was wondering is if the USB to Ethernet adapters that people use for "creating" a network port for an older computer that doesn't have an Ethernet jack would work in this instance.
I think it won't, but again...I have no specific answer to the question.
Thanks
