They just put out a hybrid that has a 2100km range.
Warren Buffett owns 40% of BYD shares. I would watch BYD closely. 46% thermal efficiency is ridiculously good. Compression ratio of 16:1 is not easily done with a shoddy engine.Not gonna happen.
Range depends on the tank size. For a smaller vehicle that might be 12gal, in which case that equate to 110mpg in best case conditions. I am guessing 75L tank, based on the 2.9L/100KM number. I mean surely this will come under intense scrutiny. This is their fifth gen for this hybrid. I'm already in the place where with current technology and infrastructure, plug-in hybrids are the best option on the market.
