4) the bars won't keep your credit card open as a tab. everyone on the planet drinks more when they only have to say their name in exchange for a drink. this is a really big problem because of 5, below.
5) credit card minimums. it's the 21st century, and backwards europe still carries cash around? worse yet, the smaller demoninations are all in inconvenient heavy coins that trick you into thinking the 4 pounds 50 p that you just paid for a sandwich in a plastic box at sainsbury's wasn't that much.

1) True on the whole, but lots of places do "free" refills. You pay for what you get.
2) Who does? Some places will, some places won't, bring your own ketchup next time if your too much of a tightass.
3) Ask for TAP WATER.
4) Yes they will. I did last night.
5) Most places don't have a credit card minimum... And if you paid £4.50 for a sandwich then you're an idiot. I'm sorry that coins confuse you.

Um... they do. Use the world-intarweb-super-highway-wide-net-o-matic to find some.

Then why are you bitching about it?
That's not even an argument. why did the OP 'bitch' about europe when america is just fine and dandy?

I fear you might have mistaken your arse for your mouth: you appear to be talking from it and your breath is fetid.

You can just say that you had no actual point.

I actually like Europe (haven't met enough nice people like you yet I guess).

Same true here, but younger teenagers case the problem. Drinking a bit earlier means you learn to handle it earlier - if you make people wait until they're 21 they are just gonna binge for months when they're 21 instead of when they're 18.

for most 'poor' people, it's a choice between a doctor and chrome wheels, seems like.

That's just naive, there are plenty of people who cannot afford to eat and properly and pay for housing, let alone own a car.

I hope you don't think that Americans under 21 have never tasted alcohol before, and when they immediately turn 21, they start binging??

Something i hate about America, is they calculate tax when you purchase something instead of just including it in the price, how F?ing dumb is that.

3) You get no healthcare if you're poor

Uh medicaid? Yeah, we do have that for poor people. We just don't want to be taxed out of existence so everyone can have it all for "free".

What about that Morgan Spurlock thing where he tries to live on minumum wage and has to give up food and such to pay a medical bill?

I'm not familiar with his situation...all I know is it is not that difficult to get healthcare here if you are really in need. Our gov't practically throws money at poor people (although, I'm sure it pales in comparsion to most EU countries). If you apply yourself in life, most of the time you can get a job that doesn't require a doctorate that will have some manner of decent health insurance.

Right, and I don't see how its any different when a 21 year old or a 18 year old gets wasted.

Although loic2003, which "US-fellating movies" are you referring to? There are some, but what do you want moviemakers to shoot, a movie about the Turks saving the world again?

The only one I remember annoying me was U-571, when American sailors capture the first enigma code machine. Except in real life it was actually the British. It's fair enough having American actors but why take a true story then change that small detail?

True, though some a few placed do include tax in their prices (certainly a minority).

We're happy not to have VAT though.

Jolly good sir! Pip pip!

1. Don't watch American movies
2. [caveman]Maybe you could do a little research next time.[/caveman]
3. Lardburger? WTF are you talking about national dish? CLEARLY it's the hot dog.
4. Score!!! America's the only country with SLANG
5. America is one of the last places English is actually spoken (Canada). Brits chew it up and spit it out like they have a mouthful of marbles.
6. Patriotism and love for one's flag != Nationalism
7. Obviously the OP was bitching about minor inconveniences when compared to the U.S. That list of reasons does not even begin to go into why Europe sucks; see mirror and smell the Eurotrash around you.

Now, go ****** yourself you ****** douche ******.

I think my work here is done. I'm going to go drive home in my SUV,take my pants off, watch some wrasslin' or NASCAR, sleep with my fatty wife, eat 6 Big Macs with loads of ketchup, and then watch Independence Day, the Patriot, U-571, Saving Private Ryan.

I'm guessing it's because the OP is living in Europe. Fortunately, you live in Britain. And you don't need to watch these "US-fellating movies" but rather, your suave, sophisticated, intelligent British movies. But I suspect this is alll jealousy and angst due to the fact that United States' pop culture is raping the world.

I'd rather work out 6% tax in my head then have 17.5% tax worked out for me

Have you ever tasted European ketchup? It tastes like tomato paste. Heinz FTW.

The entire movie was fictional anyway, the British are credited at the end if you watch. All the Enigmas were captured by subs forces to the surface by destroyers (mostly Royal Navy) and one from a German weather ship captured off Greenland(IIRC).

I'm actually sitting only a few miles from the U505 which a US task force forces to surface and captured (Enigma and code materials intact). It is a neat visit to go see it.

I love Europe. It's not supposed to be like America. If it was we wouldn't go there.

Of course I wish I could have the best of both worlds. Since I can't, I pick the better of the two for me and live in the USA.

So what part of Europe do you like? The Socialism or Complacency?

I worked, studied, and played there. The socialism and complacency (both domestic and international) were some of the top reasons I left.

Then was it the Xenophobia and Anti-Semitism?
