european plates question

I live in Illinois and we're supposed to have plates on the back and the front. I see a lot of cars that only have plates on the back around here. I've also seen some people with european plates on the front and Illinois plates on the back. My question is, would I be ticketed if I got european plates in the front with the same numbers as my Illinois plates? Thanks!

Your local DMV would know more better than anyone.

Euro plates are just as bad as the jdm plates. Worthless.

Indiana only requires plates on the back...that might explain part of it.

It is not legal. Most of the time an officer will not stop you for it, but they can.

I wish Ohio didn't I'd take my front plate off my car, the plate messes up the looks of it IMO. But then, my car isn't necessarily too pretty in the front anyway....

I've never really understood the point of having front plates. If an officer pulls you over, it is almost NEVER from the front. I can see if it helps to identify a stolen/suspicious vehicle, but normally that is done by the description and not the plate upon first glance. If you feel the need to look more closely to identify a vehicle, you will be close enough to see it at the back. Maybe its just that I'm from the South and that isn't done much down here. I'm just not used to it.
