Eve Online - restarted playing

After about a two year break, I have restarted playing.

I am rebuilding my old corporation (Diplomatic Disruption). I am mission and doing PVE now to get reused to the game mechanics, but I will be back PVPing soon. We also have an alt corporation for people that want to mine or just run missions without worying about PVP leading to war declarations.

Absolutely, it was just a bad joke on my end, was just taking a jab at MMO's for infinite progress trees hence time spent in general.

I dont understand how people can play this game. I tried it, tried it for a few months. Not trying to dump on you but I just couldnt get over those controls and flight/combat mechanics.

It has a lot of things going for it. A lot of things I wish more games had, but the damn flight and combat mechanics are so horrible. If EVE was a flight sim I'd probably still be playing it to this day.

I believe EVE wasnt made a flight sim because hardware wouldnt have been powerfull enough to push it. Maybe now it could work or maybe not. SC is going to rely on instancing, which I hate, but thats how theyre going to do it.

I think EVE would be so awesome as a flight sim but oh well.

EVE was never meant to be a flight sim. You can actually "fly" your ship manually, but I wouldn't in a fight. However, the best solo PVP pilots do use a lot of "manual" flying.

Where I live right now I don't have the ability to have separate desktop PCs side by side, so I can't multibox. I think about jumping back into the game every now and then, but this is a limitation that is really preventing it.

Really? I used to multi box on an Athlon XP. Just had to throw ram at it.

My first quad core, dual monitor system was built for multi boxing EVE.

That makes me sad... Flying like in that trailer if it's an MMO would be awesome, especially if it could be connected to the main EVE Online game.

Well, I reactivated my main. Currently going through my skills and inventory... haven't touched my accounts since 2012.

The issue is that I don't have a desktop PC at home, just a MacBook Pro. It plays one client just fine, but I have 5 dormant accounts that I'd run several or all at once, depending if I'm mining, missioning, or pvping.

I can run two clients at once to mine on my 3 year old windows laptop. I would not pvp with two accounts at once on it, though.

If you havn't had an active account in a couple years you really need to look at some of the skill changes that have happened, as well as a few of the new skills that were introduced like micro-jump drive operations, armor layering, and the sensor compensation skills. You will also notice that destroyers and battlecruisers have become race specific. Command ships has had its per-requisites completely redone, alignment and warp speeds have all been changed, and intercepters are now awesome since they are immune to indirect warp disruption combined with their speed (this also means they will most likely get nerf'ed just like everything else in Eve does when it becomes the latest fad, poor minmatars are still crapped on from the hurricane changes).

They can't do "real flying" in EVE because that wouldn't work with thousands of players in the same world due to latency and whatnot. Same reason why Star Citizen will rely on instancing.

Recently rejoined and currently playing Faction Warfare. Having fun making LP/isk. I am digging the Frigate changes. Running around in cheap fits having fun fighting Pirates and WTs.

Lets see in a month if I am bored or not
