I have 3 characters on separates accounts all with 30+ million SP. They are all decent characters. For the last year I haven't found anyone to run with, nor really the time to play anything but casually. Tried applying to a few corps but get kicked out because I don't play enough. The corps that don't kick me out hardly have anyone at all in them. Kind of a catch22.

This was my problem too. Played in early-mid 2000's, but couldn't commit the time necessary for the real fun. Didn't mind doing the occasional solo, but it's so much better with other people.

I am back in the game. Wanted to get my character names engraved onto the monument they are building in Iceland. Not sure if I will stay all that long. The place where I lived is really quiet. Funny thing is that the former CEO of the corp I was in for ages also just rejoined and we are now playing at the same time together.

Cool. Is it anyone I know, or was it from before my time?

If you would like, I can join for a few months too and play. I don't have anything big going on right now and it would be fun to play with some of the old gang.

Bored (and playing some EVE again - not a coincidence). Figured I'd bump this thread give #FAXGATE. Anyone still playing, or is the E and SC buzz taking away all the space nerds?

I've been playing Ark lately. I kind of want to get back into Eve since I have two carriers that I've never even used, but I have so many games on back log that I haven't done it.

I play both SC and ED but I actually wouldn't mind jumping back into EVE for some nostalgia. However, I'm not paying any money to do it so they would need to have a f2p option. I don't see that happening so I'll just stick with SC and ED.

Would be interesting with the carrier changes. Still unsure of how the transition will take place. There was massive backlash against the proposed plan (#FAXGATE) and CCP is now rethinking the process.

I feel the same way about a backlog. I'm sitting on hours upon hours of SP games to play (Finish DA:I, play TW:3, Cities:Skylines, Skyrim (never got around to it), Life is Strange, LA Noire, PoE, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.). There's just something nice about EVE in that I can sit AFK and wait for something incredibly fun to happen while with traditional SP games I can't generally.

I just read about the Faxgate, and that sucks. The whole purpose of the carriers I have is to use them for remote reps. They were designed entirely as support, with energy transfer and reps being cap stable.

I havn't been reading up on Faxgate, I guess I should. I still play from time to time, but not as much anymore (still keep 2 accounts active though).

Fed a Cerb and Scimi due to some bad warp in calls, but got Sac, Thanny, Archon x3 KMs out of it so not the worst I suppose

So someone already maxed out all the skills (every skill in the game level 5) on a character by purchasing the skill-injectors. Surprised more havn't done that yet. I think it cost something like 2.1 trillion ISK.

Damn I wish I had that kind of disposable income. I'm curious to see what's going to happen to the character bazaar now.

I get tempted to rejoin every once and a while and then it goes away.

I do wonder if I have a triage module fit to one of my carriers. Might be worth rejoining just to fit one and get a new ship when the conversion happens.

The refitting rules look like it is a huge blow to people like rooks and kings (who I fought against as FC many times in their much earlier days ... And who I thought were actually not dicks which is a huge compliment in Eve)

Yea, CCP wants to do away with the idea of pantheons/slowcats. Should be interesting to see what happens to capital warfare and I'm really interested to see what comes of the carrier with the new fighters. A true support/dps capital drone boat? Could be fun. I also think that capacitor warfare is going to be big, hoping my Bhaalgorn gets some more action.

I did a short blog entry on Eve.

Michael

Well written blog.

I had a lot of fun playing Eve, although I regret how I acted at the end. While the end was full of unneeded drama, I was leading bigger fleets than I ever did. While everyone was predicting a messy end, I saw the strength we had that I never saw before. They are right unfortunately, but for a while there was no alliance in the area that could stand up to us.

I remember going out on a whim to find ships to blow up every day, and at the end over 100 ships would join me at the drop off a hat. When I started doing that, I was lucky to get a dozen. But I got burned out from the stupid drama and just stopped playing. When I started logging back in, the alliance had fallen apart. I blame myself for not being there and doing what I could to hold it all together.

At least it is just a game, and no one actually got hurt. I had a lot of fun in the game, and Michael was awesome enough to put up with me and help me out quite a bit in the game. I really enjoyed playing the game, and I want to thank you for helping me through the whole time.

I used the Kill Board from the blog to find my character. I'm just posting it here, so I can reference it again if I want to look at it. I was almost always an FC, so I have very few solo kills, but I really enjoyed my solo hunts the most.

Martimus - that was the true reason why Diplomatkc Disruption stuck together to the very end. People like you stepping up and leading when we needed it. And I was so glad when you finally found your confidence as an FC so I could relax and just fly in a fleet every once and a while.

I learned quite a bit from my time leading fleets. I learned never to change a change a plan during the action, unless you had thought out the alternative ahead of time. To plan and ensure your plan would work before acting, and then act decisively. And never to listen to anyone's suggestions during a battle, as you haven't had time to think out all of the consequences of that suggestion.

Each of the above I can use in real life, so it was quite useful. (switch battle to whatever you are doing) I feel I benefited from playing Eve, just based on the leadership experience. At the time, I did not have any leadership roles in my job (although I do now), and hadn't truly led a group of people in years, so the experience helped.

I just reactivated my EVE accounts after 3+ years. Trying to get a bit of a feel for the game before I jump back into null-sec.

Pretty significant changes over the last 3 years, I feel like even moreso than the previous 3. I reactivated almost a year ago, but have fallen idol again for a few months. EVE just requires too much time unfortunately. Might actually sell of all my assets/characters and give it to the Corp once and for all.
