Although I have been doing some 0.0 ratting and those items should bring good money if I can get them through 40 jumps of null sec lmao

If you're ratting/plexing/running hacking & archaeological sites in 0.0 then the best way to get your stuff out is to use an alt to scout or have a buddy scout ahead for you. I've gotten some nice T2 blueprints from archaeological sites that I've probed down, and the thought of trying to sneak them out of 0.0 without a scout alt makes me shudder.

my alt is gonna be in a prowler soon so I think I should be safe. I know not to warp gate to gate and if I see people in a system I am certainly not gonna jump right to a gate.

Got my first real kill last night. We had just been wardec'ed, and we had our staging system gate campped for a few hours when the war first started. I was stupid and had forgotten to clone-jump into one with no implants to lose before the shooting war started... Anyway, I found myself on the wrong side of the gate camp and had to wait it out for an opening (as I was in a $h!t fit crusier because all my good stuff was on the OTHER side of the gate camp).

Anyway, after a few hours the gate camp broke up and I ran through. When I made it to our staging station, there was a war-target HAC (Sacrilege) 50km out who tried to lock me before I docked. He had a friend in system somewhere clocked. We had 4 people in system with another person close by, so I get on coms to see if they were really online or just afk station sitting to make our enemies not know when we are really online or not. Found out we had 3 available, but we were in T1 BC's and BS's. I knew we had plenty of firepower, but the matter was getting the HAC to engage and trap him so that we could take him down without him docking up.

Well, while we were getting organized, he docks... I tell my corp mates I was gonna do a quick undock to see if his friend was around. So I undock, and the HAC undocks right behind me and starts locking me up. I quickly turn on my tank (I was in a dual repped hurricane with active hardeners), return the favor of the lock... and then he starts firing away (and I silently say YES, I have him!). I turn on my webs and scrambler and start screaming into coms for corp mates to undock NOW to engage. And scream, and scream.... and scream some more.... After 2 minutes of this they finally woke up again and realized that I had engaged (well been engaged), and come out. A scorpion was the first out and jammed the Sacrilege, which saved my butt since I had just hit structure on his last volley. Then the two drakes undock and start hitting him and 125mill go up in a puff of smoke.

I don't know how these guys are still operating to be honest with you. The problem earlier in the day with the gate camp was simply we only had 5 people online. They were gate camping with T2 and T3 cruisers and T2 BS's... I don't think they had anything less than 600mill flying around the gates, with most of it probably worth 1-2billion a ship. If we had 8-10 people we would have put on some gank fits for uber damage and thrown 8 or 9 60-80million fit ships to take out one of those 1-2 billion guys.

thats the golden goose. Learn to read the history of a few items and really "know" them. I personally go for high % returns even if its slower moving and low maintenance on the orders.

Well my problem early yesterday was that I was looking at the wrong things - consumer goods. Figured out pretty quickly that there was no real profit there. After poking around some now I've found a few more lucrative things... did a few runs moving T2 frigs between hubs that were pulling 30% profits. Not the best given the distance involved and the risk of carrying 75 mil of cargo in a Iteron D: but it's a start. I greatly look forward to a freighter....

The next challenge is figuring out how to efficiently check prices in multiple regions without running a dozen alt accounts.

Gate camps have been near Shemah (high sec sorry...). Today it was a Dramiel, Tengu, Legion, Caldari Navy Hookbill, Jaguar, Dominix, Raptor, Imperial Navy Slicer, Claw, and an Abaddon (that I know of).

Ok, try this. Get two Oneiros', 5 armor tanked battle cruisers (or battleships), and a Falcon or Scorpion. Jam the Domi, then the Abaddon, and primary the Legion, then the Tengu, then the Domi, then the Abbadon. Clean up the rest. You should win this fight handily with a fleet worth less than the Tengu alone.

Yeah, that is what I have been trying to tell the corp mates. I had no idea on the order of what to try and kill first or what we would really need to do it. Unfortunately, I don't know how many people can fly logistic ships in corp as we are mostly mission runners who have just been starting to skill up for PvP (a few low sec roams, fleet op training, etc). This war is really the first one where we will have a chance to test out our recent training. So far it has been pretty good. We have only lost a couple frigates and a BC that was in a fail fit (something we are now remedying by posting approved fits for all the common used ships).

With the insurance payout nerf don't expect a big turnout for any hulkageddons. It's still cheap to gank miners using destroyers, but the security hit is painful.

As for the above fleet: damn, if my accounts hadn't expired I'd offer to join you guys. Even without logonski tactics a fleet of insured, T1 fit Tempests could one-shot some of that expensive hardware. To say nothing of a blob of thoraxes. I get something like 500 dps out of a t1 fit thorax. Throw about 10 of those out there and the expensive stuff would melt fast.

If you cannot fly T2 support ships, I suggest using a RR BS fleet. Even 5 RR BSes should win against that fleet, as there is no support (other than tackle) in the fleet you described. For a good fit, check the link in my signature and use the last Megathron fit that I lost. 5 of those is around 5-6000 DPS, with 1000 DPS in RR tank (make sure you focus fire, and actually pay attention to broadcasts to repair the fleet member who is being primaried on your end).

You will want to change your primaries though. Before I had you jamming the logistics (Domi and possibly the Abbadon), this time those will be your primary (Domi's are usually logistics ships. Although all BSes usually carry a RR, Domi's usually carry multiple RR's). You need to take out their logistics first (or if they have a Scorp/Rook/Falcon, take that out first if it is in range).

If you can field a Scorpion, use it to jam the support (either ECM or Logistics) then the high DPS ships. Do not jam the primary target, as that is going down quickly. Stay on voice communication, call the primary and secondary, and repeat often. If you have a small fleet, add everyone to the watchlist, and call out reps to whoever is taking damage. repeat this as well. Try to keep comms so that only you and the scout are speaking, so you can avoid confusion. This should be an easy win for you, and good practice for future fights.

May I ask who you are and who you are fighting? I am interested if I have ever seen you guys come through our space, and interested in finding where your enemies live as they sound like easy prey.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, you all need to stay together in a RR BS fleet, since remote repair only has a range of ~8.5 km. Keep focused and don't spread out.

RR BS fleets are our current training goals. We posted minimum skill requirements to aim for (as well as desired skill levels). It was chosen due to the relative quickness of training time to get everyone in the corp to fly those fits.

We just moved the corp to a new staging area, which is part of the strangeness of the wardec. The guys we are fighting are the "IDLE" alliance, who are really a low sec pirate alliance. Half of those guys can't even come into the systems were we are in. The corp I am in is MENSA., which as I said, is primarily a mission running corp, but we have ambitions of grander and are working on getting a PvP fleet going. The skills used for PvP really are the same things we use for high level missions, and we are dabbling with PLEX and WH running on the side. We are obviously a few months from those goals, but we are working on it. The biggest thing is really getting practical experience. We have a few people who have a lot of PvP experience who are trying to get the rest of us into shape.

You guys are actually very close to us. I have a feeling that we may see you more in the future.

It seems that most of the IDLE kills lately are in the Forge, which isn't remotely close to your location. Maybe they want to move down to Kador.

Do you have any idea where these guys some through? I may set up some traps for them down the pipe in Kador. Right now only us, Veto, and Zawa are ever really down there, and as such it is pretty empty most of the time. I would love to find new targets (ours seem to be all dead )and if they are moving into low-sec Kador, I will start scouting out that area more often

EDIT: Oh, in case you want the link, here is your first real kill: http://idleempire.griefwatch.net/?p=details&kill=40640

Good job

Bummer, idle guns moving out of my neighborhood? That's bad news. They're great guys, a lot of fun to play with, and don't seem to care hugely about epeen. If they move out the entire caldari cosmos constellation will become clogged with idiotbears. And michi's implants will no longer be 500M for a few hours work.

Ah well, no big. I'm unsubbed anyway.

So you guys see the new salvage ship? Even though I hardly ever salvage at all, it's always nice to see new ships in the game, especially this one since it gives the Primae hull some real use!

Thanks for the killboard link. As for IDLE moving, I don't think so. We had been operating in Caldari space, but had moved litterally 2 days before they wardecced us, so I don't think they knew we had moved. Our corp previously was spread out over 3 basses of operation, and we decided that if we are going to start doing more fleet ops, we needed to consolidate to one location. Since we have a bunch of Amarr mission runners who can't change damage type outside of EM/Thermal, we moved to Amarr space because all the Caldari guys can just change damage types to whatever is needed.

So I havent played in probably 2 years or more.

When I played nano ships were all the rage and Gallente was flavor of the month. How is it now? Gallente still the PVP kings?

I'm really thinking of reinstating my 2 accounts. Its getting time to blow the dust off the scorpion I think.

It depends on what you want to do anymore. The races are all pretty well balanced. The Amarr ships are probably considered the favorites for fleet warfare as remote repairing armor is much more efficient than remote shield repairs, and with a ship with higher armor resistances makes the points repaired that much more effective, and Amarr having the best armor resistance bonuses...

Anyway, nano ships still seem to be very useful especially in solo work, which seems to favor Minmatar and Gallente at the moment. Really though, there is no right/wrong racial ship, but there are ones that just work a little better than others for certain roles.

Sounds useful, and would make missionrunning go faster for those who prefer to loot/salvage... I still haven't reactivated my accounts; not sure if I want to get back into it.

One day left and then my alt will have finally trained Cloaking IV and be able to fly a proper Tech 2 scan frigate. I haven't really done much for the past week in EVE while waiting for that skill to finish, so I'm looking forward to seeing how this works for PvP. In another week I'll also be able to use Tech II medium autocannons on my main character, so I'll be able to use a Hurricane in addition to my usual Drake.
