Hey, Ratboy would you be interested in joning my corp? We're extremely small but we are incredibly skilled at PVP. We currently have 2 wars decs up so we'll get plenty of pew pew.

We are located in Genesis, and have pretty much uncontested control over the low-security space there. If you are interested you can apply for Diplomatic Disruption in the safety of Oursulaert so you don't need to come to Antem.

Well you’re right about the quick burn out on Mission running. There are only so many times you can run the same level 3s over and over. Gone Berserk….. Blockade…. Damsel in distress…..

It’s worse now that I have the Tengu as I can warp in at 100 kilometers and kill ships as they head towards me. When I was running with the Drake I had to be in at around 60 k to be effective, though even then it wasn’t much of a fight.

Actually Yeah I am sort of interested. A decent size corp in an area like Genesis, sounds like it might be just the thing.

My in game character is Jonathan Wark and my hauler alt is Tom Thumb. A one time proud member of the Aegis Militia, so if any of you are people we fought against … well you know how that goes.

I still have a few friends around, and maybe a few people that wouldn’t mind podding me, mostly Minmatar players. I’ve never done any pirating, or griefing, so if anyone has any grudge against me it’s not because I acted like an AssHat.

I would like to know more about what you guys are into at the moment and how I could be helpful. Obviously I’m flying a Tengu right now for missions but I have a lot of ships, everything from interceptors, assault frigs, Interdictors, Destroyers, Cruisers, Battlecruisers, to Battleship (Actually only one Battleship at the moment). But what type of ships and skill sets are you looking for?

Do you guys have scheduled patrols or ops on set nights or is it sort of a “See who’s around and go from there” Sort of thing?

It’s been a long time since I’ve gotten my adrenalin pumping in a PvP fight, maybe it’s time to shake off the rust.

Getting to Antem in one piece might be fun though.
:sneaky:

Getting the freighter there with all my stuff….. humm that might be a bit tougher. I always avoided low sec in the freighter

I would hope that an established alliance/corp like theirs would have at least one carrier pilot that'd be willing to help you move stuff. Not a big fan of moving stuff through lowsec space myself but that's why I have my alt with a viator or if its large cargo then it typically goes in my carrier .

Yeah, I am sure we can work out a carrier or Jump Freighter if needed.

As for our corp, we are pretty blood thirsty and will take what is available when a target shows up. Of course the fleet composition is chosen by the FC at the time, but that composition is composed of what is available. I like having BC's with the appropriate Logistics, and a few recons and covert ops as scouts. But lately I have been taking more RR BS fleets than BC fleets.

Since you are primarily a Caldari pilot, the Drake will likely be your primary PvP ship. If you can fly a Basilisk, then that would be awesome too. A Falcon is also always welcome, as is a Scorpion.

I generally stay away from HAC gangs in low-sec since we are all flashy and usually get gate guns. Even with logistics, it is a pain to keep HACs alive under gatefire.

it's really going to be an interesting adjustment for me coming from an alliance that was mostly Amarr based and tended towards the "We uphold the law and don't do anything to make us flashy" Mostly we fought war dec opponents which were never in short supply or we did anti pirate ops in low sec

I laughed at the "Flashy" comment.

regardless I want to contribute as best I can so I'll work on training what ever skills I need. Looking at my skills I need about 10 days to get long range targeting to 5 and I purchased the Logistics skill so I'll be basilisk ready in a fairly short time.

Ended up getting in more EVE time than expected this weekend since New Vegas is still so buggy. Mostly stayed in a small bit of 0.0 that my alliance has sort of claimed & ran radar & gravimetric sites. At this point I have enough T2 BPCs that I found to manufacture a dozen large T2 rigs, just need a few more days of skill training on my alt to be able to build them. I also managed to pop a Drake on Friday evening, but then lost my main character's Drake and my alt's scanship on Saturday to carelessness/stupidity.

It also looks like invention slots in labs aren't that difficult to find. I've got a fair amount of skill training left before I can give it a try, but I'm sitting on enough datacores and decoders that I should be able to crank out the T2 BPCs once I start.

That sounds pretty good. If I have any decoders in my hangar, I'll give them to you when you get back to Antem.

If you're high sec capable, best bet is just to get to Imya (last high sec system before Antem). If you need someone with a freighter to swing by a high sec location and hel pyou move your stuff, we have enough freighter pilots that it should not be an issue.

I don't think I've ever even been to the Genesis region I've reactivated accounts and am taking a few days to get my bearings in the game, then I'll likely come apply.

Just so that everyone here understands, I want to tell you all something. It is a very good idea, an idea that is so full of win it couldn't be any better, to run L5 missions in Genesis in a Carrier without a scout. It is much better even if you don't have the skills to run capital moduals, and have poor situational awareness.

But seriously, I thought that we wouldn't do much to the Chimera with only 3 DPS ships, and 3 Neuting ships. It was more just to keep him tackled while we enlisted some more DPS to finish the job, but his tank broke easily, and he died as fast as I have ever seen a carrier die without dreads or super-carriers on the field.

I had a very lucky escape yesterday evening. I was hanging around a radar site in my Drake to salvage a few wrecks (in hindsight this was stupid and not at all worth the risks in 0.0) and I got bounced by several ships since I'd been careless and wasn't watching local or keeping an eye out for probes in the d-scanner. The guys who jumped me stopped me from warping away, but they didn't have webbers or any way to stop my microwarpdrive (I forget if it's warp scramblers or jammers that do that.) Anyways, I was able to burn away from them and warp off once I was outside of their warp jamming range. I got a valuable reminder to always watch local, even in parts of 0.0 that seem mostly empty.

Good job. The only time I was caught in a plex, the attacker came after me in a HAC, while I was in a Domi. I had him into structure with Drones, while he hadn't even taken me into armor yet on my armor tanked Domi before he warped out. Even so, it was a valuable reminder to be vigilant, and if he was actually prepared to fight a drone ship like me I might have died.

Wow, sounds like that guy had a terrible fit.

I generally don't worry about a single unknown contact popping up in local if I'm running a radar or grav site. Chances are they won't have probes, and if they do they'll have seriously compromised their ship in order to fit the launcher. Several unknowns are definitely a cause for concern, although I'll often keep running the site while keeping an eye on the d-scanner. If they start to probe me down I'll run off, but there's no sense in abandoning a potentially valuable find (especially a gravimetric site since those have T2 BPCs) if there aren't any probes out.

That sounds good in theory, but you forget that the real threat probably won't be in the system with the prober. Once they probe you out, they will get a position on you and the real gank fleet will warp to you. Depending on how far from the gate you are, you may only have a few seconds from the time they enter local and they land on you, and the prober could have a hero point to keep you there until they arrive as well.

Luckily a Drake isn't worth that much, so it isn't that big of a deal to lose it.

Here's a dumb question from someone who's never used an interdictor before. Is it possible to use a Flycatcher to launch an interdiction sphere then warp to a station & switch ships?

No you have to stay with the ship.

I finished my first T2 rig manufacturing jobs and put them on the market in Jita. Hopefully someone will actually buy them...

Unless you're selling something relatively rare, like most T2 rigs, in which case Jita maybe the only place it's traded in significant quanties.

As it is his first t2 rig job, I doubt he's putting out mass quantities. Hell, just move 'em to Rens and you'd make more isk with little extra effort. Or just find some people who may buy them and make some deal (not too hard to find people needing t2 rigs).

A lot of T2 rigs trade in low single digit daily quantities even in Jita. Anywhere else they don't trade at all. Quickly browsing through the histories of several T2 rigs the only one I can find that I'd want to sell outside Jita are T2 medium cargo optimization rigs. Most anything else just selling a single unit outside of Jita could take weeks and/or a lot price bumping. Even for the T2 cargo rigs, I'd sell at Jita to start unless I was sure of the market somewhere else. Heck, if cash was tight, I might even consider selling them to buy orders at Jita so I could use the ISK to start making more right away.

Of course if you know someone who wants them by all means sell to them directly, but in this case I don't see anything wrong with selling at Jita.
