Yah. There were several problems:

1)They tended to run several thousand RPMs higher than they were rated for
2)They tended to short-circuit every once and a while, shocking the frame(And if your heatsink is conductive, your processor)
3)The edges of the impeller have a special design so that they are as close to the edge of the frame as possible. If they are put off alignment a tiny bit, they can rub against it, and at 10krpm that can cause fires.

Nice toy though. Connect to a power and put it in your hand, it moves. Fancy! But not to be on any of my heatsinks ever again, that is for sure.

Wouldn't a Thermalright SK-7 plus the 80mm NMB fan be better or at least equal to the Vantec at a much quieter noise level? It most certainly would beat the Speeze CPU Fan Model 5F263B1M3, but that is 1/3 of the price. A Thermalright SK-7 + 80mm NMB is only $22.50 before shipping compared to 24 before shipping for the Vantec stuff. Plus, SVC.com does not overcharge you on shipping. Some people are pissed at their customer service though, but my 2-3 orders have all been perfect. I'm not sure about the coolermaster though.
