Went to Bestbuy - Philadelphia, PA. They had the Sony/Ericsson T68i w/ At&t GSM Network for $199 - $50 rebate.

However, after ringing it up, got a total of 4 rebates totaling $275 w/ 1 year GSM network contract. May not be for all because the GSM network is just starting out, but I had to jump on this deal.

New activation rebate -$125.00

OK, so how is this service + phone? I live in SoCal and I undestand that AT&T used this as their "pilot" for this service so coverage is pretty good here.

Is this a single band phone? If so, I really wont' be able to roam anywhere since nobody else has GSM service.

Any other info I should be aware of?

I don't have a link to the rebates. The rebate forms were printed on the cash register as the sale transaction completed. 3 of the 4 rebate forms are addressed to BestBuy. I don't remember seeing any signs for this much in rebates, so I was pleasantly surprised to see all the rebate forms printing out.

I believe some of the rebates are contigent on becoming a new AT&T GSM customer.

Just picked up one at the SJ BB. This is a hot hot deal! Best of all, I have perfect reception inside my house where Cingular has failed miserably and Sprint with barely 1 or 2 bars.

Like I said, I haven't seen anything online for the rebates. You have to go to the store and the rebate forms will print out from the cash register as the transaction is made.

I just got this phone/service yesterday and so here is my story with the rebates ...

$50 from AT&T
$125 from BestBuy
$? from Bestbuy

All the rebates are contingent on getting NEW service and a T68i, the $50 is contingent on getting new AT&T service. I don't know what the pyc103 was talking about ... maybe the extra rebate money comes from the ? rebate from BestBuy (no $ value printed on this, but the guy at the store told me to mail it in just for kicks).

Anyway, that's my story. Hope it helps.

$125 ATT rebate
$50 BB rebate

=$25 t68i

and to qualify for the $125 rebate you need to sign up for 2 years of service. i have no idea what pyc103 is talking about in this thread.

Maybe this offer is good only for on the East coast? Because I am looking at the forms, and all 4 are unique rebates offering a total of $275. Only one of the rebates has a requirement for a minimum 1 year contract with AT&T GSM.

I got a total of 4 rebate forms. 2 have no dollar amount on them. The CSR told me they were 50 for those two, totaling $275. All 4 have different mailing addresses and I think two of them go to Sony for rebates.

I want to get this for my wife as well. Anyone able to use a different address and get rebates back. This is a 1 per household/address rebate. Should I risk it?
