True, coverage is still spotty in the USA, but I need a GSM phone because I'll be traveling in China and can just pick up a new sim chip there instead of a whole new phone altogether.

Please, Please can someone EMAIL me a copy of Best Buy Rebate # 28724 or post it.

4 Rebates should have printed out at Best Buy according to everyone here-

I bought my phone in BB Portland,OR but only 3 Rebates printed out the register:

#29131 $125 off
#28638 $50 off
#28694 (mystery rebate) $? off

and I'm also aware of the ATT rebate form you can pick up.

Everyone else had another rebate print out at register:
REBATE #28724 $50 off

This is the one I've been looking for!!! I've been everywhere searching for this missing rebate, but BB employees just give me a stare
like I'm crazy to think that there is another rebate. Every BB store I go to to try and get this rebate just keeps telling me that total rebates is $175 period.

If someone can PLEASE email me a copy/scan of this rebate (BB rebate #28724) before you fill it out, I would have a BIG teethy smile for days. I've been trying everywhere- BB stores, internet, fourms.

If you have Rebate #28724 from Best Buy, PLEASE scan it before filling it out and email it to me if you can.

steven.l@iname.com

I would be eternally grateful. I'm still searching for this! thanks

AT&T has a 30 day no questions return policy for all it's wireless customers. So, if you don't like it after a couple of weeks of finding out how the service in your area is, return it. Most other companies have a period of a week or mere days, AT&T is a whole 30, which is one of the reasons why i'm currently a satisfied customer with a T68i. And for anyone in the phoenix, AZ area, the service here is excellent.

I could not resist this deal and I went to Best Buy today at lunch time ... the first Best Buy has none left !! the other one .. only a few miles away had 15 !! .. I said I will stop by after work ! by the time I got there, there was only 3 left !
I paid $200 + tax .. and I got 3 rebates .. 125, 50 and another one with no $ amount.
I got the $99/m unlimited anytime minutes for 2 years !
I took my phone, went to the car wash and took some diner home .. by the time I got home it was activated- the guy told me 24 hours- I called my friend in NYC ( I live in SD) and she could not tell I was on a cell phone !
Just awesome phone ! perfect reception and very high tech ! this phone just has it all !!
For a while I was considering the Siemens S46, digital/GSM but thay means I have to take a dual plan and I wanted the unlimited plan, and I realized the GSM will grow very soon ... who needs digital while the entire planet is using GSM
I recommend this phone to everyone ! very nice colors and endless list of features including blue tooth ....

Actually MowSow, I read somewhere that San Diego (or do you live in South Dakota) was one of the test spots for GSM, and that it has probably the best GSM reception in the US. Glad to hear that you are loving your phone so much. I'm using mine in NYC and liking it very much too!

Picked up mine 10/19/02 at Bellevue, Washington location.
I received rebates:

#29131 - $125
#28638 - $50
#28694 - mystery rebate

Like many others, I did not receive #28724. Is this the same as the rebate card available through attws stores? People have been asking for scans of this rebate. Will Best Buy accept a copy of the rebate receipt? All of my rebates require "This Rebate Form" under "Proof of Purchase Requirements". All ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Also, someone mentioned having to activate within 7 days. Why is this and where is this requirement found? I am currently a Sprint customer, and they won't let me prorate my last month (billing ends Nov. 15). Has anyone been able to quit Sprint mid billing period and not have to pay for the full last period? I don't want to pay for 2 phones, so I want to wait until mid-November to activate my new t68i (it'll be hard to wait). Any ideas on this matter will also be greatly appreciated.

The BB sales didnt activate the phone on the spot.
He says I can activate by dialing 611 or at an AT&T wireless store.
In order to get all BB rebates, do I need to activate it at BB,
or I can do what he said?

How does ATT know who to give commission if I dont activate thru BB?

Thanks.

What's the included bandwidth usage with this deal??
For things such as browsing the web and sending pictures which is the appeal of this phone.
I know you only get like 1mb for 7.99 a month on top of the 39.99 for phone usage which doesn't include data or something absurd like that.

answered my own questions... Just some FYI, if you're gonna browse the web, use it as a modem or send pictures or stuff, here are the rates (ouch)
----

With any of the AT&T Wireless Local Network plans, you can add one of the following mMode plans to further customize your mLife.

Monthly Service Charge // Included Data // Additional Data // Why Should I get this Plan?

Mini - $2.99// 0 // 2¢ per kilobyte used* // I'm just exploring. I might get directions, e-mails or check out another mMode service from time to time.

Mega - $7.99 // 1 MB of information requested or sent // 1¢ per kilobyte used over 1 MB** //
I'm out on the road often, maybe 2-3 times a week. Getting e-mails, directions, traffic and stock quotes is a necessity. With mMode, I'm in touch with my world.

Max - $12.99 // 4 MB of information requested or sent // 8/10¢ per kilobyte used over 2 MB** //
mMode is my lifeline. I use it for everything- checking stocks, weather, e-mails and instant messaging. mMode keeps me informed with sports scores and news. It's everything I need- wirelessly.

Ultra - $19.99 // 8 MB of information requested or sent // 6/10¢ per kilobyte used over 8 MB //
I expect a lot from my mMode and boy do I get it! With all of the friends and contacts I need to stay in touch with through email, text messaging, and IMing, as well as all the news, stock prices, flight info, and sports scores I stay on top of-I've got a lot going on! The bigger my world, the bigger my mMode!

HI,

off topic but... couldn't find appropriate forum.
I live in Portland OR and have t68i.

Most of the time I use the phone, I get an "echo" of my voice for the first minute I use it.

Basically, I call someone and I can hear a repeat of everything I say as soon as I say it. It sounds like someone is interrupting me but listening to it I realize it's my own voice. Very distracting.

Anyone else have a similiar problem with your t68i through ATT? Is there a special setting I need to adjust or is it a bad phone? I've had the phone for 1 week. If I replace phone, should I keep my current sim chip or just exchange everything? thanks for help. steve

Your echo maybe due to your volume turned too high. Try to lower your ear and mic volume.

As for the AT&T GSM in Bay area, yes they do sell this phone. I bought mine in SJ BB (also mentioned in my previous post) and they had in many other BB's but they were selling fast. Apparently, this was not an advertised special but the word got it around really quick. Unfortunately, I mailed in my 4 rebates and didn't scan them. Sorry.

Service in the bay area: I live in Fremont and travel throughout the bay area including the SF area. Service has been excellent. I rarely get dropped and two bars the worst reception I've had so far. I am truly impressed with the reception in Fremont because that has always been a bad spot for Sprint and Cingular.

Do bay area BB sell AT&T GSM?

yes, there is coverage in the SF bay area, although from what I noticed (live in SF) the reception is about as great as Cingualar was (sometimes alittle better sometimes alittle worse depending on WHERE you were in SF and if you're in a building or not) but generally the same as SF...

Got the phone from BB in Pinole (toward UC Davis off 880 north), they also had 2 left in the Emeryville BB (near berkeley) and they had about 7 in the Redwood city BB (went there to exchange my phone cuz I was having battery problems)

Btw, my phone after a full 10hr charge runs out of juice in about 18hrs (even though right after the charge the phone says it has 200+hrs of standby time, not used, sitting on the desk overnight on the "clock screensaver") should I get my phone exchanged again? or is it just being weird?

Anyone else outthere having similar probs'? cuz it's getting kinda annoying seeing as to how this is my SECOND phone

As always, Thanks in advance... ^.^

Blah! Always preview your posts!
Incase that didn't make sense... this is happening to my second phone when it's not used, sitting on the desk overnight on the "clock screensaver" w/ the light off, just to clarify (the saying that there is "200+ standby time" after a full charge and then running out of juice after 12 - 18hrs, instead)

thanks again
