Why new.egg.com? Because I have heard NOTHING but *GOOD* things from them on this forum. I have ordered from them before, and have been extremely pleased with their service. That piece of mind is worth $6 to me.

Yes, I got the dreaded e-mail from Dell today talking about the delay until the end of the month. I then called a Dell CSR and canceled my order (after waiting on hold for EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR). Dell CS blows.

I think a 1 month delay for a 'in stock' item is simply unexcusable.

Don't get me wrong -- newegg rocks, and I order from them all the time. Just telling you that Provantage is fantastic, too. I've placed many orders with them, with no problems. Those two places generally offer some of the best prices on the net, so I usually go with whichever is cheaper.

alright... stupidass dell.. i got the email today, delayed to the 18th... i checked online, still said it would ship 7th. then i called dell, got a CSR named Kelly, and she just kept saying that it was a product availibility problem. so, i pointed her to the product page that said it was in stock, and she was just silent... then she just apologized saying she didnt know what was wrong with the order... dammit i will just check back on the 7th

haha... delayed till the 28th... right, well dell will be taking another 10% off my order cause i won't be able to send off that logitech rebate by the 31st. else, I may even cancel... anyone know if they charge your account for a delayed item?

Arghhhhh!!! I got an e-mail from dell too saying the shipment would be delayed until the 18th. Forget this... I'm going to cancel my order from dell right now and order from newegg.com. I don't care too much about the joystick and I already have good headphones. I should of been smart and cancelled my order when I got the first e-mail saying it would be delayed till the 7th. This isn't a deal if you have to wait a month to get your order!

I didn't even bother asking. With everyone going through the same crap on the forum here, I figured why bother. If I had placed my order w/ ANYONE else besides Dell I would have had my speakers by now.

A Dell rep called me on the PHONE today to advise me af the delay till the 18th. She gave me the opportunity to cancel.

Was very nice about it.

Provantage may be nice, but Newegg ships order within 24 hours, and fedex delivers within a couple days. I've ordered thousands and thousands of dollars worth of stuff from newegg, and they've never let me down.

DON"T LET DELL LIE TO YOU. THEY WILL NOT SHIP YOUR ORDER UNTIL AT LEAST THE 18th, MAYBE EVEN THE 28th.

My email said my order wont be shipped until (at the soonest, not latest), the 28th. Do yourself a favor and order it elsewhere.

yes.. it was posted somewhere in this thread.. it comes with logitech stuff, 10% off next purchase.

we probably wouldn't get it anyway, but im going to try and get dell to take another 10% off my order.

For Provantage, it depends on where you are. Ground shipping for me to SoCal is $37+, so even adding local tax to my Newegg order it is cheaper.

*EDIT* Damn Dell! :| They charged my credit card even though my ship date kept getting pushed back. Now I have to wait for it to cancel before I can order from Newegg (bought a little too much stuff for Christmas on the MasterCard).

I feel bad for the pain and agony that Dell's causing you (and everyone else) It seriously sucks waiting for your ship date to finally arrive, only to have it pushed back a couple of weeks. IMHO, you should think about cancelling your order and getting it from Provantage or Newegg. It'll save you some headache and you'll feel better not giving your money to Dell

Just thought I'd chime in with my take on this deal. Seems to me that Dell in fact WANTS you guys to cancel. Think about it... they are going to loose tons of money if they fulfill all of these orders. Now, assuming what someone else said earlier, and that the speakers are in fact IN STOCK, and they are having 'order' delays or some sort of system processing delay or some other made up story like that, that some of you have been getting, they are just trying to cover up the fact they don't want to sell you the package at a huge loss to them.

By continually pushing the date back further and further, they hope you will cancel and order elsewhere. By not giving your money to them and buying elsewhere, you are saving them from a big loss!! I bet if someone orders this thing at full price, pays for overnight shipping, they'll get it on their doorstep the very next day. Any takers?

hmm... might work? does anyone know how dell searches through their orders? it seems like a lot of ADA880 orders went through because they didnt use coupons or ground shipping

maybe they search through orders by looking at the total price?

And not to start loose the lawsuit hounds or anything like that, but I do remember reading somewhere in the FTC laws that not delivering products in a reasonable and timely manner is in fact one of the conditions for misleading or false advertising.

I think having an item which is in stock delayed for over a month is not very timely at all, especially since for some strange reason, a couple of you have received your packages throughout these past few days. If they were out of stock, how did you guys get your speakers?

Maybe those of you who really want your speakers should call back and find out that section number about delivering items in a timely fashion in the FTC rules. Dell doesn't need another mishap like the AD880 speaker fiasco posted all over the news. If they realized you guys mean business, and there is indeed some impropriety here on their part for lying about stock status, then maybe they'll realized it's best just to take the loss and appease you guys... unless of course the loss is too big to take, in which case, they'd have to admit their wrong-doing again, in public, and probably be more embarassing and cost them more in the long run. Apparently, they want this deal to go away, and go away forever.

All of this of course is just some fun speculation and scenario building. Dell may in fact indeed be out of stock of these speakers. Of course, with conflicting CSR reports, someone may need to call in the big guns and figure it out and get the real story.

You're forgetting the fact that Dell's not timid about cancelling your order for you, and giving you a lame-@ss excuse of why they're not going to honor the deal. Just like the Altec Lansing ADA880's

Didn't know it was charged until after I called to cancel, then tried to order from Newegg. While on the phone with Dell, they said nothing about crediting my account, which would have prompted me to NOT cancel, cuz then I would have known it was charged.
