My order was orig. suppose to ship 12/28, then changed to 1/2, then 1/7, here it goes again:


I am going shoot Dell! Not for delaying the order but for waking me up at 9am to tell me that they apologize for the delay and the speakers will be shipped out 1/18 or earlier and asked if i still wanted them or not. :|

I couldn't find this bundle on dell's site anymore. I ordered this two days ago. It's suppose to ship tommorow. We'll see.

Well, after I was told yesterday that my speakers would definitely be sent out today next-day shipping, I got the dreaded e-mail today that my speakers would in fact ship out on Jan. 24.

I called customer service, and they confirmed that the speakers won't ship until then. And of course, when confronted with all sorts of "what the hell do you mean they won't ship til the 24th?!" questions, their only response is, "Dunno."

I pointed out that the web site still shows "in stock," and they couldn't really account for that.

Really would be interesting if someone tried ordering at full price, to see what happens....

For all you guys calling Dell to check the status on your orders, I remember a CSR telling me that the info that we see on the internet is pretty much what they have. You may want to save yourself some agony and realize that the CSR's know as much (or less) than you do Granted, I guess they can call other departments to see what's going on....but I liken that to a bunch of chimps in a lab, scratching their heads...

For what it's worth: The rep told me that they really have no idea if an item is in stock until they send the order to the warehouse, which then replies with whether or not the item is in stock. When I asked then how some items could be listed as "out of stock" on the Web site, even before orders are placed, she said, "All I know is the policy."

Yes, indeed. That is all she knows.

Ordered mine from dell on 12/24 and received them on 12/28. Not too bad for the holiday. Great Speakers!

Check your orders now.. I don't put much faith in it, but I got the Delayed till the 28th email.. But my order estimated delivery date went from Jan 2 to Jan 12 today

I also got a phone call this morning stating that I will not get delivery until 1/24. I got the deal for 154 plus free overnight (12/23).......I agree, they want us to cancel, they are gonna lose their as@es!!!!! I am gonna hold on until the bitter end!!!! These will be a nice Easter gift for me!!!!! I bought with Amex blue, if there are any price fluctuations, hopefully they would be willing to deal with it.

Dude, looks like your not gettin a Dell!!!!:Q

Hmm,

I ordered mine 1/1/02, got order confirmation email saying my item would be shipped on or before Jan 4, 2002.... checked the status online, and it shows that my item should be shipped on the 1/4/02 still.

Hopefully it will ship!

What a load of BS! I cancelled with Dell early yesterday morning, yet my status page still says they will ship on the 7th, even though I received the email saying they won't ship until the 18th. And they still haven't credited my account yet. I say it's time we pull together and file complaints with the BBB.

But like other people have said before, I too have ordered from dell, been told that it's backordered and won't ship for a few weeks, then it arrived 2 days later. I'm gonna wait it out and see how it goes...

To all of the people who seem to think that Dell wants us to cancel our orders, I wouldn't count on it.

Markup on speakers is huge. Granted, Dell will not make as much money if they ship them overnight or sell the package for $154, but I can almost guarantee that they are still making a profit.

I just believe that they weren't prepared for the influx of orders they recieved (it was on just about every hot deal forum/site). It is probably harder to get the bundles (with joystick/headphones) back in stock than it is to get the speakers by themselves.

Right now, it shows my ship date as 1/12, but it was 1/2. They seem to wait until the day it is SUPPOSED to ship to "reschedule" delivery. So, if they don't ship on the 12th, I am probably going to cancel and purchase them locally.

Ah well..

This item is on back order. Don't let a crafty CSR tell you differently. When I called to cancel, he told me the item was deep onto back order.
