Ever been grocery shopping at midnight?

I tend to go just after sunrise. Place is clean and empty.

Only problem with late night at the grocery is the deli is closed. I need my freshly sliced meat!

Always. Cub Foods is 24/7, so we try to do our shopping at night. Less busy, and most importantly no screaming, whiny kids.

yea my roommate and i (sometimes with a friend or two) go at midnight. it's real enjoyable for some reason...

I love getting things I need late at night, not the usual masses of people everywhere plus everyone is just a bit more relaxed.

yep, actually kinda fun going around that time. i don't make a habit of it, but it's cool to break up the norm once in awhile.

i prefer shopping between midnight and 5 am, when there is very few people out and about. i haven't done that in a while, though.

I work at a 24 hour grocery store in a college town. You wouldn't believe(or maybe you would) the amount of people that come in after 11pm.

Shop after work all the time. Don't get off till 2am.

Yep, shopping late at night is great because you can shop in peace, with no lines etc. One thing not available yet though is the deli so if you want fresh cold cuts you gotta go during normal ours and things like fresh donuts, begals etc. are also unavailable. You can always buy prepackaged meats or older donuts and begals etc but they just are not like buying fresh or fresh and warm out of the oven.

i used to do that when i was in college. a real supermarket was a few blocks from me. open 24 hours over the weekdays and saturday, not sure when it closed sundays. man, having the ability to buy REAL food (not junk food) that late, and close to me, was great.

I go late at night all the time, it's conveniant with my weird work schedule.

I like that there isn't anyone there.

I don't like that they only have the self checkout lanes open and no one working in the deli.

My only time shopping after Midnight was in Vancouver, Davie IGA/Super-Valu(don't recall store name)to be exact. It was pretty neat to shop that late, no crowds, little noise, no lineups, just farkin sweet!

There is a grocery store by me open until midnight on the weekends. Went there on a Saturday at 11pm and I think it ended up taking me longer than going during peak times. Waited behind a very large woman ordering/sampling just about everything in the deli and a group of middle age women inviting a 16 yr old cashier to the party they were having.

shopping at 2 am is much less stressful than when the store is full of peoples

I usually use self-checkout unless I'm buying too much, but at my grocery, they close the self-checkout and only have real checkout late at night.
