Feels like going into the same bar, night after night, expecting something new and refreshing, but seeing the same old faces again and again.

Like anyone at the bar really cares about an opinion.
For example...
You have the same old lady at stool # one, half drunk drooling into her drink.
The same guy at stool # two, muttering to himself about property taxes and Obamacare, then drooling into his drink.
Then that same "kind of cute" lady on the end stool, but if you look closely she's wearing
different shoes on each foot. She carries a knife just barely visible inside her opened purse, and she keeps repeating that you look just like her x boyfriend. The x with the restraining order against her she adds, "that SOB!".
And then the two same guys at the table. Cutting up everyone that comes in the door with insults and private little jokes, whispered between each other, followed by uncontrolled giggling laughter.

Awww those P & N "viewing" numbers vs the off topic numbers.
And like a schmuck I always head straight to the P & N entrance.
Yeah... I guess Im just schmuck....

I used to really enjoy it. There seems to have been a pretty heavy influx of crazy in P&N in 2012. Mostly new posters but some old posters who just jumped off the deep end. I used to get a real kick outta the political discourse, even when it got heated. Lately it's been a few of the same people making slight variations on the same idiotic post.

P&N is useful when you feel like a good old-fashioned internet screaming match. It's the internet's version of Mos Eisley; a wretched hive of scum and villainy. You'll have better odds of a decent conversation with a brick wall than the blindly partisan posters on either side that inhabit P&N. It's not a total loss, but my God, do most people there make it hard to not want to punch your monitor in the hopes that they might feel it.
