maybe for takeout, but never to sit down. eating is a social thing for me, so if its gonna be by myself, id rather it be in front of the tv or comp or something else to keep me entertained.

same for movie theater. im a patient man, if im gonna watch a movie by myself why not in the comfort of home on dvd?

not to mention the costs... almost always cheaper to do stuff at home. im willing to pay more to hang out with friends, but if thats not there why bother?

oh yeah, one exception, if on business and company footing the bill - hell yes eat out

No, I am extremely uncomfortable. I don't really know what to do with myself, what do I stare at other people, read the drink menu, stare at the table, what the hell am I doing by myself in this booth? The minutes pass like hours. When I lived overseas (with no kitchen and had to eat out at a sit-down place for every meal) it was a constant fear that I'd have to go out and eat alone for that meal. Actually made me a much more social person, inviting people to lunch, dinner, movies, etc., just so I didn't have to go eat alone at a table.

Definitely this, though I must say certain films can be fun to see with a big audience. Also, I have found certain theatres have good audiences, mainly the small, boutique theatres that show older or art house films.

KT

I've almost lost it a couple of times with chatty teenagers talking out loud and texting on their phones during a film.

Is that the sound your wallet makes whenever you sit down at a restaurant, alone?

Some of us aren't poor virgins and can afford to go out and eat a nice meal for no reason other than the fact that we want to.

I'm pretty sure the sound I'm hearing is the flies coming out of your wallet, they're probably the only thing in there.

For the record, Locutos and I live in an aesthetically pleasing city, unlike the dump you probably live in Trident. So sometimes it's nice to grab a book, and eat a meal on a nice patio overlooking the water or something.

what do you mean free?

and what money? what waste? its not like you pay rent. it's not like you do anything.

I pay for many things... just because I don't pay for rent doesn't mean I don't have bills to pay or things I want to spend my money on.

Stop being a fool.

Right, says the guy who takes every god damn pill there is to increase blood flow into his small penis...

I'm pretty sure that company you work for, that online website or whatever for pills that don't do anything... doesn't pay that nicely.

Just ask Locutus how I roll, he knows what area of town I live in, what my interests are, all which cost a pretty penny.

Attack my job, sounds like insecurity. Safe to say that whatever scraps my company pay me is more than you're making and that's all I've got to say about that.

The only reason you "make more" than me is because I rather go to college and get paid to do it. (Which I do, oh my)

I'd like to go out to Michael Mina's restaurant someday. Ever since I became single I don't really have a foodie friend who would go with me. Maybe 1, but it would be awkward and I don't think she'd do it as she's seeing someone.

So I'm considering going alone someday. Maybe. Before it closes down in SF at least (October)

That's great, I work, go to school, and I don't have to pay for it.

Is there a reason why you feel a perpetual need to try and make your dick hit the floor? Is there always some sort of penis measuring contest with you?

The nice thing about being me is, you can mock my job, try and say how awesome you are with being paid to go to school, etc etc. But at the end of the day, I'm still cooler than you are and I don't need to explain why. This might have something to do with the fact I don't need to be applauded by a group of anonymous people to feel okay about myself. The most hilarious thing is you go to the end of the Earth trying to validate yourself to some group of people you have never met.

By the way, another nice thing about me is, on the most basic level, regardless of job, or education, I'll never be as ugly as you and that is certainly not up for debate. This is my vain reference to your pathetic threads you make about physical appearance.

Cheers bro, atleast I'll be wasting my money (something that you don't have, or atleast not to the degree I do), on something that I find to be fun.

LOL @ being cheap over treating yourself to a good meal everyonce in a while.

Is this the one in the hotel that does everything in triplicate? If it is I almost went there the last time I was in town, but my companion thought it was too pricey.

And how is that? Scholarships or parents? I have a hard time believing you could even have half the brain to get a scholarship that would provide a full ride.

Uh...? What. Man, you must really have insecurities about your penis size. (I guess that would make sense since you do take pills that increase blood flow in the body)

You're cooler than me and you don't have to explain why. Hah, that's a laugh sir. THAT'S A LAUGH. I'm lollin' right now. It's hilarious. The only reason you say you don't have to explain it is because you can't. I don't validate myself to these people, if anything... I make myself seem even worse than I am.

HAH. BUT ATOT HAS SAID LOOKS DON'T MATTER WHEN IT COMES TO FEMALES, SO SUCK IT!

See, I don't waste my money. I do it on things that actually give return on investment. That's why I go social dancing or do things with others socially, because that has return on investment.

Waste of money and time bro. I guess you just sit at those tables, waiting for your order... thinking about how lonely you are because you had to go out eating alone... (Business trips are different obviously. You don't have a place to cook a meal, etc.)

What you or anyone makes is irrelevant. The point is that many people assess the value of things differently than you do. If your argument is that others should logically not enjoy going to the movies or to restaurants by themselves, you are failing utterly to support your point.

Film and food are experiences that can be appreciated on their own, and to do so in a theater or a nice restaurant is part of (and can enhance) that experience. That you are not willing to pay for it, or are unable to appreciate it, is meaningless to those who differ from you.

So I guess you don't know what its like to have a lunch/coffee at a beachfront cafe? There's tons of people just chilling with a book or laptop and eating their lunch/coffee. This isn't exclusive to OC also.....

I'm not going to dictate a return on an investment what I want to do, if I want to head out for a few hours then I will. I even did that in college as well, such things are afforded to those who actually worked while in college for their money rather than mooching off my tax dollars.

Perhaps other folks are not looking for whatever you think you're going to get out of these social situations, just as you are not in a place in life where you could appreciate a nice steak dinner in the company of your own thoughts. Except I think I give you too much credit with the comparison, because those who are comfortable enough personally and financially to enjoy the latter are probably not envious of the former.

If you wanted to try a debate with any kind of logic, you came to the wrong forum. Oh, and what they make is relevant. Relevant as in, I enjoy something as long as it is not in my mind that this costs so much for the amount I am getting. That feeling declines as you increase income. So, what I or anyone else makes... does matter. That feeling is global. If a movie costs $1000 to watch as compared to $10 it normally is, your feeling of "is this worth it" is going to change. The same can be said for percentages of income.

That's why wealth is relevant.

It's exclusive to very populated areas. That's lunch. That's coffee. That's not going out to a restaurant alone, getting a booth/table, and ordering. That's going out for your lunch break.

You don't sound like someone who is frugal with their money. You sound like those kids who spend thousands on a home theater system while in college. I don't really understand how most people really "afford" college even if they do work while in it (I just put it under the debt free category or only debt for tuition and maybe books category). It's really not even possible unless you work full time or have a good living situation. (Cheap rent) If you have $600 month for rent and $200 month for food(I assume you eat nice) then that's more than minimum wage at 20 hours in most states.
