Were you scared?

When I was a teenager, my friend and I went to a big fallow field and was shooting our airsoft guns at cans. These guns looks exactly like real guns.

After we were done shooting cans, we just chill in the back of my car. I was checking out his gun, which looked like a glock. Mine looked like a desert eagle.

Engrossed in conversation with my friend and looking down at the guns, I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings. Next thing I know, there was 2 cops pointing their guns at my head from 5-8 ft. away. Someone who lives around there had called the cop. One wrong move and I would be dead. At least they announced themselves and told me to slowly put my hands up. I seriously didn't notice them until they were that close to me.

I wasn't scared then. Thinking back on it, still not scared.

Luckily these cops are not trigger happy, as some cops have shown themselves to be.

My friend and I was placed in cuffs for an hour sitting on the hot pavement while they check the car and stuff.

No, never given a police officer a reason to yet.

Unless you made a motion to grab your airsoft guns or if they were in your hand and you made movement to point the toy guns at the cops, they won't be trigger happy. In pretty much 99% of the shooting scenarios, tragic or not a motion was made towards the police. They are trained to shoot if what they believe they identified as a firearm is pointed at them, after they had given a verbal warning, especially if they received a call from a civilian that there may be armed people on the scene.

Was on a road trip with friends and one of our cars got hit head on by an illegal left turner. We jumped out of our car and ran over. One of my friends was stuck in the backseat with a bloody nose and we couldn't get his seat belt to unbuckle, so I started running towards a cop car that had just pulled up behind the accident. I wanted to ask them for a knife, but one of them jumped out the car and pulled a gun at me yelling to stop, which I did. Eventually he understood and we got my friend out.

No. I've never been in trouble with the law.

I wouldn't mind getting shot once, just to see what it's like. (Same with being struck by lightning)

Yes.

I was working early, and didn't get the alarm code entered in time. I called my boss, who gets called when the security alarm goes off, to let him know it was just me and that I got it disabled within a second or two of going off.

Local PD did not get the memo that it was an accident, and when I was getting gear out of a storage room they were in the hallway drawing down on me. Luckily I am one of people in the on-call rotation, and they recognized me (we handle IT for the city PD and the sheriffs department) so it wasn't a problem.

Twice. When I was younger at a public pool, some chick was getting raped and I was in the stands. Some jackass behind me threw a bottle at the cop and he pointed it at me. I guess I looked guilty.

Second time was when I hopped the train when I was in high school. The cop slammed me against the wall and put his gun on my back. I had a train pass on me but wanted to catch my train so I just jumped over instead of waited for the guy in the booth to let me in.

I got pulled over once when I was a teenager and the cop came up to my window w\ his gun on me screaming to show him my keys....

Apparently my car matched description of a stolen one. He apologized and let me go.

Closest I had was an officer went to his holstered gun. It is weird you know. You want to make it plain that whatever you did to escalate the situation in his mind was a mistake. You know you shouldn't make sudden moves just to confuse him more. Yet I immediately jutted my arms up at lightspeed while saying "whoa there".

Not his fault, I was wearing a bulky jacket and getting my wallet. He noticed the bulges and I decided to reveal the offending gloves and hat. He put his hand to the holster, I stopped what I was doing and shot my arms up. He then patted my clothes with one hand.

Which time? They even told me afterwards one time if you would have moved we would have blown your head off.

Back in Florida I had a LEO buddy come visit me at the cutlery store where I worked at the time. He wanted to check out some new auto Benchmades we had, shoot the shit about some drama regarding our shared dojo, but also to show me his new holster. It was designed to prevent someone from approaching from the rear and drawing it to use on it's owner.
he was quite pleased with it, turned around and said "Seriously, try to draw it, go ahead"
So I lean over the counter and go to grab, get a full grip, start to test away then hear the sound of drink hitting the floor and when I look up there's another LEO who I didn't know lining his Glock up with my head. It was another officer who was stopping by to say hello to his colleague, timing couldn't have been worse. Saw me going for his gun, dropped his ice tea and was ready to put me down. Scared the hell out of everyone there, especially me, but we had a good laugh about it later.

Yes, No, cop was relieved of duty following the incident. He had also pulled his gun on a school mom earlier that week dropping her kid off at school

Twice ... sort of.

Once when I was in college some friends and I went target shooting at a place where we sort of weren't supposed to be. It was land owned by the local power company but people went there all the time to ride 4-wheelers, shoot, & hangout. Anyway, I didn't hear the cruiser pull up until they were right behind us. I had a pistol in my hand when I turned and saw them stop. I quickly dropped the magazine cleared the gun and placed it on the ground as they popped out of the car. One had drawn his gun but had it at his side and told me to step away. After complying and talking for a bit they let us leave without any problems.

The second time was at a government facility guarded by MPs. It was in a building inside one of those double fenced areas with signs that read "Deadly Force Authorized" all over the place. A guy behind me escorted someone through an electronic door but he hadn't picked up his new badge that authorized him to escort people. There were no visible guards but several cameras in this particular area. About 1/2 way down a hallway 2 MPs busted out of a side door leveled their M-4s at us and said to get down. With full compliance it was sorted out in a few minutes. Best not to argue when a young man, possibly still a teenager, aims an assault rifle at you.

I have a similar story. I was coming in to work one morning and the pin pad appeared to accept my code, but for some reason didn't disarm the security system. As I walked into the building I set the alarm off. I went back to the pin pad and reentered my code and the alarm stopped. When I walked back into the building I set the alarm off again. I went back and stopped the alarm again and decided I would duck under the infrared beam to get to the alarm box and see if I could figure out what was wrong. As it would happen a police officer had just arrived at the opposite door and saw me ducking under the beam. He quickly ran to the other door and came in with his gun drawn. I guess he thought I had seen him and was trying to duck out of sight or something. We sorted it out though.

I broke up a fight at club in LA in the 90s and a LEO threw me off the guy I was holding down and had his gun out. There were a TON of seedy types at this after hours so I cant blame the guy.

In retrospect I shouldnt have gotten involved and got elbowed in the face trying to keep these guys from beating down a scrawny kid who just wanted to dance.

Yup, a bunch of us were skateboarding at a college (SUNY Albany) and a campus cop pulled his gun on us. Until that night I didn't even realize campus police had guns.

We got put up against the wall and frisked, then cuffed and brought to their station (which was in a trailer at the time lol). I remember the cop had a poster of John Wayne on the wall, which I thought was fitting.
