I've seen those before.
Imagine digging and hitting something like that!

Well I guess there wouldn't be much use in being terrified. I think striking the ground with whatever tool/machine you are using would be the last thing of which you are even aware!

That'd be nuts to just "doo do doooooo... doo do dooBOOOOM" Wonder if there is even a chance for the body to fire off signals that something might have just went wrong.

I don't think piercing a line with a bucket tine is going to detonate escaping gas. It will travel a while until it finds a source of ignition and then you have problems.

Generally if you see workers running with terrified looks on their faces and smell the stuff they put in the gas then you probably should leave the area quickly.

A couple weeks ago there was huge boom heard in Portland (that was actually heard from Vancouver all the way down to Molalla). Turns out some yahoos set off a giant pipe bomb next to a boat launch on the Willamette. Someone even said they saw a 30-40 foot mushroom cloud.

I was standing in my living room when I heard a loud boom that was definitely not an M-80. I looked at the window and saw it bend slightly and then felt the air pressure from the blast even though I was indoors.

There was no sound in the neighborhood for about thirty seconds and I immediately thought that a plane had crashed. I ran outside and saw smoke on the next street over. I went to the house and all of the windows were blown out and there was major damage to half of it. There was a man on the ground and several people were standing over him waiting for the paramedics.

The house was being renovated and the service tech was working on a furnace or water heater when a gas line burst and created a fireball. Why the gas was on is a mystery to me. The house was eventually repaired and I never found out what happened to the guy.

Was about 1/2 mile from when a cargo jet went down outside of Miami on takeoff.

Then right after, a tanker truck blew up on the 826.

We started to worry if a pattern was developing. Critter had just gone down in the glades and Amtrack took out a tanker in Ft Lauderdale within the previous year or so.

Wouldn't piercing the line have the potential to create a spark, thus providing a means for ignition?

You could likely completely spew bullshit to me and laugh, all the while I believe every single word. Not that you would, but that's not exactly within my domain of knowledge and it's not something a quick google/wiki research tangent could tell me for sure. And you know a hell of a lot more than me.

A spark is likely with metal to metal contact. However with a lot of gas pressure and little oxygen in the immediate vicinity ignition is probably not going to happen. Just as shooting a gas or propane tank with a gun won't cause it to explode as depicted in Hollywood.

In any case you would not catch me waiting around to watch.

im pretty sure he had permission, unless his name was maverik doing a fly by.

I dont think the air force would allow officers flying multimillion dollar jets that cant follow orders correctly

Yeah, they put those in charge of naval ships and expect them not to race.
