Ever hear of a way to print CD's with a Canon or Epson Inkjet?

The other day I saw an auction for info on how to modify a Canon or an Epson inkjet so that you could print directly onto a blank CD. Anybody ever hear of this?

I have seen modified Epsons, that print directly to cdr's, for sale. I suppose there must be a hack that allows anyone to modify one, did you try a search engine?

Yup, tried searching but all I was able to find was pre-fab units that were way overpriced. Im looking for info on how to modify my Epson 600 to print CD's.

Try CDFace, Stomper, or Neato.com -- I use the glossy labels which I print on my inkJet, and use the Neato applicator to get it perfectly centered each time.

If anyone knows how to print DIRECTLY on a CD without buying an expensive machine just for this, I would LOVE to know. I'll send you a free CD! :]

I thought about how cool it would be to have a cd-label printer in the past, but the only cheap one was the Primavera, which was still close to a grand used. Glad to see them come down in price though.

How well do Neato and CD-Stomper work? Do the labels ever come off when they're applied improperly or just by buying an off-brand?

I think they work well, just if you screw up the labels DO NOT come off easily and usually ruin the media...

I have both the Stomper and the Neato labelers. I prefer the Stomper...
One thing for sure, If you put a label on a CD, you had better want it there. They ARE NOT removeable. I have had 1 or 2 come unstuck around an edge. I have had some players that refuse to play CD's with glossy labels.
