Ever heard of movement conservatism? It is a new term to me. Apparently William F.Buckley was big in it but then got more normal.

First heard about it from a very good book, Democracy Awakening, by Heather Cox Richardson. Then went into the Wikipedia article on it. The more history I read the more various links between things become apparent. Fun stuff. Like the same Roger stone type characters have been at work for decades, and one of their first stooges was Bush 1. Apparently Lee Atwater felt bad later in life for what he had wrought. Never would have guessed that.

It pains me now to think that Reagan suckered me in. But thankfully not for long. I blame the double digit inflation that poor Carter suffered through.

I have the awful feeling that corporate America, preferring Republican donation paid for lax regulatory politics, raise prices when Denocrats win the Presidency to help get rid of them next election.
