ever heard of this... I can't dial a certain number from my phone.

I'm using a mytouch 3g and android 2.3 (gingerbread)yet the past couple days I can't call my wife. she can call me though. when I try to call her it rings once on my end (none on hers) and disconnects. I happened about a week ago and reflashing the ROM fixed it but the past two days this has been going on and I did a full wipe and flashed a newer ROM and still the same thing. I can't call her. WTF!

I'm just venting here. I don't know if it's a rom problem or my phone or the network.

Maybe you should ask Tmobile.
But right off the top of my head I cant think of a reason why.

Maybe try adding a 1 in front of the # just for laughs.

actually i've been trying to that for an hour now. my phone is acting all messed up.

yes did all that. also tried removing her as a contact and re adding her

Well, 2.3 is a port at this point AFAIK so bugs are to be expected.

I had this happen with a friend of mine's number. I'm also on T-Mobile, as is he. I ended up moving to a different ROM, did a full wipe (data/cache/davlik), and the problem disappeared.

I would try a full wipe if you haven't done so already. (edit: just saw you tried this already). I'd try a different ROM altogether, along with a full wipe. I'm betting it resolves the issue. If not, perhaps try a different radio.

What phone does she have? What network? Also rooted and running a custom ROM?

Well I did several wipes, tried different froyo roms. it still wouldn't fix things.
I couldn't get it unrooted (not enough time to figure that out).
but then tonight it just started working again. I could dial my wife. I was back using my original rom thanks to nandroid recover.
I'm guessing a T-mo problem now.

I've had issues with this in the past - T-Mobile didn't have the correct routing for the number. I called them up, and they checked it and fixed it. Took them about 5 minutes.

I am on T-mobile, and I have a similar problem. One of my friends, when I call him, automatically disconnects after two rings, whether or not he picks up by then, about 98% of the time. I have to immediately call him back, and then he picks up after the first ring, but before the second ring, and usually the call stays up.

It's really wierd, because even if he picks up initially, it disconnects us.

Neither one of us has an android phone, so that's not the problem.

spent a while on the phone with tech support today. they tried to update some settings on my wifes phone and that kept failing.
so we ended up wiping her phone and for now I can call her. Hopefully it will last.
