When I was much younger and dumber I convinced a friend to cook and eat an Amanita muscari mushroom. The North American form isn't usually all that dangerous, but it causes some unpleasant symptoms for a while. In Russia and Europe they are much more deadly and some varieties are hallucinogenic. I didn't know anything about all that at the time though, I was just young and naive and thought it looked good to eat. Now I know a lot more, mostly because of this experience.
I never ate any of it, I wasn't around when the cooking and eating took place, but if I was I would have eaten some too. I can't believe I was that reckless
I don't understand, so your friend died from eating the mushroom?
