Ever wonder what became of "the" bully from your childhood?

Never really had any bullies. Had one 6th grader try to pick on me when I was in first grade. I punched him (very ineffectively) in the arm, he laughed, and never bugged me again. I was pretty much always really tall which prevented me harm.

I didn't have "the" bully. I've moved schools, I've had a lot of them... it's just not like there's one, there's more than 30.

i don't even care. i moved past that once it was the past. i did become friends with one occasional bully from my youth "instigator" is more the term. We are now very much alike.

i suspect the majority of bullies end up in jail or jobs where they can continue it. seems that type of personality just don't do well in adulthood.

most people change as they grow older, especially if they have kids..etc. if their environment/lifestyle never changes, they typically may not. Kids will be kids and people need to come to terms with the past.

i never really got bullied, when people pushed id push back. there was a guy in hs that bullied the smaller kids, especially the "pacifist punks". they didnt hurt anyone, and wouldnt raise a fist to anyone. but, he and his skinhead friends found the need to beat the hell out of them regularly. he also beat up on a few of my "stoner" friends regularly, but stopped when i asked him to. i knew him way before he was big enough to bully, and used to wrestle and play football with him. my best friend ran over him at a desert party one time and went into hiding thinking he was gonna get killed, but turns out the guy went to jail for attempted murder (someone else). 10 years. ran into him after he got out, nicest guy youd meet. got trained as a chef, was trying to turn himself around. even apologized for beating up on my best friend, even after we told him it was him that ran him over haha. that was an interesting bar night.

I changed schools in 6th grade (old school closed) and the level of bullying went down so far that I barely noticed it anymore. The ones who tormented me earlier in life I have no idea. Someone tried to put together a class reunion for grade school I didn't bother to show up since the only person I cared about joined the Army and died in Iraq.

Heh I had a friends brother as my bully. He was two years older than us and would torment me in 4th grade. But by the end of 5th grade I grew a foot and put on about 40 pounds. I beat the piss out of him one day in front of another friends house and was never bullied again in my life.

Oh unlike many of your bullies this kid ended up being a doctor lol.

Schadenfreude is about the only reason to go to high school reunions.

you can keep telling yourself that. somehow i bet a freakonomics type answer is probably more true if someone did research it. a lot of the stuff said in the past was wrong, bullies in actuality have high self esteem for instance.

Actually, I just remembered that the doucher in high school tried to fight this wrestler kid with a couple of his buddies in the locker room after gym one day. (So, 3 on one. Maybe it was just 2 its been a long time.) They all got tossed LOL. I didn't see it, but I remember him running out of the gym with a big gash on his head.

One killed himself just after Marine boot camp. He bothered me in Jr. High, not high school and I came to like him later. I even miss him sometimes.

Another, drowned when him and some friends were drinking in a rowboat on a lake during college, after the boat capsized. I feel sorry for him since it seems he was psychologically messed up.

Another, I never saw again after I told him he was an asshole and then walked away. I am not sure why I never saw him again since I feared my standing up to him and calling him an asshole would draw him back to me for a fight. I feared this possibility since he was one of those martial arts bullies.

Another, I hit him back in the face and never saw him again. Apparently, he is a police officer in a neighboring town.

In case any of you are wondering what became of me...

I went on to pay my way through undergrad, got a masters and PhD, and I'm now a research engineer. The stuff that I work on doesn't kill people, it helps the government to kill people more efficiently.

I now bully my co-workers for being dumb and stuff.

I did some pretty shitty things. Received some, too. If I had a do over, I'd try to correct both of them.

I was never really bullied or picked on myself, but all of the douchey kids I can remember were in jail before they graduated high school. I know in one particular instance the guy had his house (i.e. his parents' house) raided by the police. They found a bunch of cocaine under his mattress and he was charged with intent to distribute.

A few years ago I was accosted by a big guy with a beard, a kind of mountain man type. He told me who he was and that me and a friend had bullied him in high school.
I told him I was very sorry (I was) for my actions as a freshman, even though I don't really remember any of it.
Later I thought about it and realized I was 5 feet tall and 105 pounds as a freshman in high school. What kind of wimp gets bullied by a 105 pound freshman? Jeesus man, man up and maybe you wouldn't have been bullied.

I don't really recall any bullies from my childhood. I was pretty good at making friends with anyone and even though I was kind of a weiner kid, I never got picked on; don't remember any of my friends facing anything like that either. :hmm:

One of them in my school died while we were still in High School. He was having an innocent pillow fight with two of his younger brothers when he suffered a seizure and died. I felt no sympathy.

Most went on to become more successful than me. But still huge douchebags...

Now the people who I've let get close to me and fuck me over had a worse fate.

Was best friends with dude since 3rd grade into high school. Around 15 he just began lying, stealing, and being an all around shiesty piece of shit. I had to cut him off before he could screw me over anymore. Then he realized I didn't want to be friends with him anymore, so went to all of our mutual friends n began spreading lies and rumors about me, to turn them against me. By the time I realized what was going on, & reached out to them, it was already too late. Most understood my side of what was going on, but things weren't the same. We all went our separate ways. I only retained one friend out of all of that, but it took him a year to come around....
About 2 years after I cut him off, he got caught doing a GTA, & spent 2 years locked up. About a year after he was out, he tried screwing someone over attempting to sell them fake coke. Got shot twice in the chest & was laid up in hospital for a month.

One day in 7th grade I just got sick of being picked on all the time, so I flipped out & threatened to kill my entire class. Everybody stopped fucking with me right there, but then I became a bully.... Although it started all over again in high school...
I have went out of my way to apologize and offered favors to those I did pick on while I was a bully. Have been able to repay back favors to a few people. But haven't been able to get back in contact with alot I've picked on too... Most were glad to get an apology, but they'd prefer to keep a safe distance from me....
