The OP is the modern day junk dealer. When I was a kid we had Freddie Latanzio, who went around in his old beat up pickup truck picking up anyone's old appliances, building materials, junk cars, took 'em back to his lot, scrapped them out, resold this and that.

I was basing it off of the plethora of "What the hell is that music?" posts in the thread and a lack of response to the questions.

I figured more people would have caught it. Even if they don't listen to his music, Sealab fans should recognize Hesh very easily.

That's impressive. You got more skills than I do when it comes to repairing small devices. I usually just trash them if they break. It makes me to nervous when I even think about fixing them.

Dammit! I had a really nice video of my own but I turned my wearable camera off when I was done and it didn't save the clip (would have saved fine if I were in DVR mode). Now it's all lost. I countered his MC Chris with my Space Ghost's Musical Barbeque.

I used a giant 4.5" lever-handled heavy duty suction cup (Harbor Freight item 40993) to safely remove the digitizer because it doubles as a stand while you remove the LCD (no reason to cut a perfectly good digitizer). I even demonstrated how it can work the same way for a replacement digitizer (stick it to your work surface instead). Still requires heat and a pry tool (I use a handled razor), of course.

The display issue (backlight only; no image) did not appear to be caused by the LCD connector because reseating did not cure it. Next, I reseated everything else and pushed down on the film covering where the display cable enters the LCD panel (something similar fixed my Alienware M11X corrupted display issue recently). The problem went away and I haven't been able to make it return (bump testing). Fix: successful.
