1988 Honda Accord LX-i. Just because it was my first car ever and because I'd like one someday as a memorial.

Also, a 1986 Volvo 245. First car of my parents' that I can remember and I still appreciate its simple utility.

I love the late 80's/early 90's Accords. I have no idea why.

Not sure I'd call an 89 grand wagoneer or 88 accord collector items but I do like the jeep . Whats the plan for the jeep?
I want a 70ish dodge dart 340 4 speed or a 67 mercury cougar 289 4 speed. My realistic/affordable dream cars.

I think more Asian cars are bound to make a the list.

A few contenders:

1. 1997 Acura Integra Type R - I can hear the guffaws now, but to me this is still the best handling FWD production car ever made and accomplished with no electronic trickeration.

2. S2000 - These are already up there, 20 years from now most of them will still be on the road.

3. Already classics 300ZX, Supra, RX-7 The only thing that knocks these down a little is that it's hard to find them in stock form, especially Supra's, most of the TT's have been purchased and modded like crazy. Maybe I'm wrong but those Fast and Furious stickers and ridiculous paint jobs on some of the Supra's I see aren't doing them any favors in this regard.

4. Acura NSX - yeah already a classic to some, I wouldn't mind owning one, they still look teh sex to me even the older models with popup headlights.

Thirded. I love my 92 EX-R even though it's not particularly spectacular in any one performance characteristic. Clean lines, nice sounding engine, solid brakes, and it's exceptionally well constructed.

As for dream collector's cars:
1994 Toyota MR2
2000 Porsche 911 GT2 --> this one might be a little more difficult to acquire, financially.

Nissan GT-R R34 (or a R32... I'm not too picky) V-Spec II
Mazda RX-7 FC3S
Old Toyota Corolla GT... nothin' like an AE86

Because the 993 GT2 was only made up to 1998, and the 996 GT2 started production in 2001?

I feel fortunate to already own all the cars that were on my dream list especially since I have owned my Shelby for 22 years since I was 22 years old. Getting the car that early in my life was the key. People called me crazy to spend that much on a 20 year old Mustang but it would cost 10X that if not more to get one now. I always told everyone it didn't matter how much money I pumped into that car as I would always be able to get it back plus some.....all the while getting the enjoyment of driving it and I have driven it A LOT....~50K miles. Even with the depreciation of mileage it is still worth 10X what I paid for it.

1986 Lamborghini LM002.

*shudder*

No, I would have to kill myself in a horribly painful manner if I were to own such a vehicle.

I dunno, I plan on "collecting" my 91 Supra Turbo once it's retired from daily driving (ie, when it starts to cost me more than routine maintenance money to keep up), but it's going strong at 196k miles.

Other than that, I'd really like an early 90's MR2 Turbo and a stock 4th gen Supra.

Sorry, I'm trying to keep this list to things that might be financially attainable. An F40 is probably not realistically in my future.

The one I've wanted for the longest time, and actually had a chance to get (~20+ years ago), is the 1963 Corvette split window coupe.

Back around 1985, when stationed in the San Francisco Bay area, my buddy & I were driving south down highway 101, out of SF. As we're driving down the highway, I saw my dream car ahead of us.......with a FOR SALE sign in the back window! I told my buddy to catch up to the vette, rolled my window down, and signaled to the driver of the vette to roll his window down. I hollered across, "How much?", and he hollered back, "Twelve thousand!" I waved to him, and wished him good luck selling the car.......

Damn.......should've sold my soul, if that's what it took, to get that car!! Can you imagine what it would be worth now??? And let me tell you, it was cherry. :brokenheart:

Umm... A 1999 Mercury Cougar GT? It's styling was a bit ahead of it's time, and slapping a Mercury badge on a sports coupe designed for 20 year olds probably wasn't Ford's best idea.

Come to think of it, the Mercury Marauder (Mercury's other recent attempt at sports car) never really caught on either. That might also be a collectible someday.

Thats funny, my ex father in law has an 88 GC with like 40k original miles. It is nice, real nice, and that 360 pushes that thing like crazy.

For me, any DB series Aston Martin. Another 67 Lincoln Cont. coupe would be nice. I miss that car. What a dumb thingI did selling it

I have fantasized about owning a BMW 850CSi so many times that I think it exceeds the number of times that I have fantasized about hot women!

My dream is to get an 850CSi and load up with a state of the art V10 BMW M5/M6 engine.
