If the left won't call out their own when they transgress, there's no reason to think the right should do the same. I'm a right -of-center libertarian with liberal social values, so if I happen across either side acting in an authoritarian way, it's going to get my attention. What's going on at Evergreen is wrong, plain and simple. It ought not be a partisan issue, but one of shared values. Typically, the entrenched nature of the debate results in predictable outcomes, like left-leaning outlets not even bothering to carry the story, and left-leaning posters either dismissing it or ignoring it. Either action in aggregate has the effect of supporting the kind of authoritarianism that instead ought to be stamped out by all of us wherever it appears, and no matter what purports to be for. Additionally, that these kids have no sense of the irony of their actions speaks poorly of their ability to think critically, indeed, of their entire education up to this point. I hope some will learn better from this incident. Perhaps not surprisingly, I could not find mainstream coverage of this event, or even text of the professor's email, but here is an image of it:
