everyone hate their jobs right?

just checking.


because sitting in the closet like office shared by 4, doing work that high school dropouts can do, watching each day go by on the verge of depression as my looks fade, youth declines, and lose my identity.

I'm grateful to be earning income but it's definitely not glamorous to any outsider no matter how you slice it.

I am happy with mine.

I used to be able to say I love mine but the company is changing so damn fast and in so many wrong ways that I'm constantly left with the feeling of unease to some extent.

I get paid well though and AM doing what I want to do over all, so that counts for a hell of a lot.

Hopefully the economy will swing back around and we can see some light at the end of the tunnel instead of wondering what fellow co-worker (or myself for that matter) is going to be the one that gets let go next.

im in school and a part timer, but i have one of the best part time jobs ever.

now the guy i work for at school is nuts, and i hate that one.

don't hate it, occasionally get frustrated but I usually like what I do

I'm in the military; I get paid to unload stupid amounts of ammo and throw grenades for no actual reason.

Mine has days that aren't so fun but I live for solving some of the challenges we come across.

Still in college, but once I get my BA I'll take practically anything that offers a decent salary, at least initially. I'll worry about finding something I love once I've established financial stability. Primary reason is financial independence from my parents. It goes a hell of a lot deeper than this, but in a nutshell: if I so much as spend money on a burger and fries at McDonalds and my dad sees it on the bank statement, my mom gets abusively chewed out for "letting" me do it. I'm 21 and living on campus 2 hours away. :roll: We're not strapped for cash by any means either.

I do software development - I like my job, the company, my coworkers and I get paid well. In fact, I write my own software on the side as a hobby (phonalyzr.com is one example), since its something I find interesting regardless of whether I get paid or not. When I was a kid I used to love playing with legos or my dad's woodworking tools making things - these days I still make things, except I use words typed into a computer. It's not as tangible as those things, but still good.

Having said all that, its a pretty mixed bag overall. I hate the mind-numbing monotony that comes with working life - like it or not I still have to be at work 5 days a week and still have to listen to my boss (even if I do like the guy) and like you, I too get that unsettling feeling of life passing on by while I work away :

I've been thinking about leaving my job and going away for some time - perhaps a year of travelling here and there, or leaving my job and trying to make it on my own as an independent developer, but I've not had the balls to do either of those yet.

i don't hate my job, but since i'm so good at what i do a get a lot of "charlie work" (IASIP reference) just because my boss knows i'll do it right the first time... keeps me away from the stuff i really enjoy, but still, don't hate it

I'm unemployed, but I hated my previous job of land surveying. I loved it when I first got in, but it grew tedious after awhile.
