everytime i exit RTCW, WinXP becomes extremely bright.....how to fix?

I play the game very bright with r_ignorehwgamma off and when i exit everything is very bright. I can go in display properties>settings>advanced>nview>color correction and as soon as click that, everything goes back to the normal brightness which is much darker. But man what a hassle that is. Any idea on how to fix this bug?

I have the same problem but in Medal of Honor: Allied Assult. I use the same technique ( display properties>settings>advanced ), to get my display back to normal, BUT I have an ATI Radeon 7200 32DDR with the latest Catalyst drivers. Maybe its a bug with the Quake 3 engine or something, I'm sure a patch would fix, anyone know of any?!

I've noticed this same problem with quake3, as well as UT when using the opengl renderer (especially when the game crashes). It's happened to be with both my gf2 and my radeon 8500. Other than it being an opengl related issue, I haven't a clue.

well it hasn't been fixed with any of the game patches and its gettin very annoying considering the amount of RTCW i'm playing. Anybody know of any fix?
