eVGA 6800GT SLI mode not working?

I just got my 2 6800GT's and i installed everything. When i turn SLI mode on in the BIOS, i get the message "Cannot display this mode" from my monitor. Has anyone come across this?
I have a Dell 2001FP 20" LCD btw..
im using win2000
and using the 71.24 drivers and tested with the 66.97 drivers as well (same results)

maybe the cards are displaying a resolution that the monitor can handle?

if u ment cant... it could be possible... This happens during enabling SLI in the bios...and not in the advanced settings in Display in windows.
I cant get to windows after enabling SLI in bios.

Start in safe mode using F8 and then set the resolution and refresh rate to something the LCD can handle?
