I seriously doubt eVGA is the original OEM. My guess would be Foxconn or perhaps Jetway is the actual OEM.

Yep, Foxconn is the actual manufacturer. I read on X-Bit that nVidia is actually having the boards built and then branded for the resellers. They (Foxconn) are also doing BFGTech, eVGA, XFX, ECS and Biostar's boards. So in theory, they should all perform at almost the same level.

ASUS, DFI, MSI, Gigabyte and ABIT will be doing their own designs but again acording to X-Bit, none of them have them ready yet.

IMO, it will be interesting to see if the "independent"s can do better than nVidia or if they just basically copy the reference board, which is what the Stryker from Asus looks like to me.

I've just quickly compared the pics of the abit against the eVGA & there are definite differences.
The most obvious are the digital PWM & the cooling but also sata ports & floppy connector positioning.

This is one heck of a review for it:
VR-Zone
You gotta love Shamino's over-the-top geek-boy approach to writing reviews

Another very well-written review:
PC Perspective
I love their excessively thorough selection of benchmarking suites/apps and graphs.

I'd really like to get one but not sure I will ever SLI. On the other hand, if I don't get a board that can do SLI then I won't be able to if i decide.

Is there any disadvantage to not doing SLI on an SLI board?

EDIT: ALso, didn't I read that the board has a "feature" or something that will make overclocking with less expensive RAM possible? Did I read that right?

you probably mean the auto overclock setting with EPP memory? - but that isn't cheaper.

I found what I read. Here it is below.

According to 680i reviews I've seen, you can run FSB and memory speeds either linked or unlinked, and you can also run the FSB faster than the memory, which means you don't need expensive memory to achieve a high FSB.

And it was a member here that posted it so I guess I just want a confirmation that you don't have to buyu the most expensive RAM to overclock. Am I reading that right?

Why would it use more power if you weren't using the 2nd slot? Not arguing, just trying to understand.
