Have you checked out the EVGA forums? There is a lot of good info there. Some good and some not so good. I have a friend who bought the motherboard and he is running it with a 6700. He has had no problems and says it is great.

I'm interested in this as well. I am returning my DS3 and need to decide on a replacement.

So no one knows the answer to this?

Can anyone chime in here and share your experience?

The A1 latest board is out now at the egg...

http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16813188013

It is not supposed to have the problems reported earlier. I think it is a high quality product (though I have no personal experience with it), but more importantly I hear that eVGA tech support is the best out there. Combine that with a lifetime warranty and you've got me sold.

Yes, Liftime warranty on the A1 even know Newegg and Tigerdirect falsely print it(A clerical error I'm sure allowing them to sell more extended warranties, as this was the same case with the AR and TR at launch). The T1 has a 2 year warranty(unconfirmed).

...on second thought, I would hold off on this board until it is confirmed that the newer revisions do not cook RAM like all the other eVGA boards. Check the eVGA forums! Holding out for a stable/reliable/long lasting 680i platform.

I have this board, running my RAM at 2.2V. Apparently it will destroy ram at this voltage but meh corsair has a lifetime.
I built the system myself and all I can say is that damn northbridge heatsink/fan is huge and will cause many problems when deciding on after market CPU coolers. the layout is very restrictive on such things as that. I had to modify the brace for the Scythe Ninja tonight which required a hacksaw and a metal file. Other than that everything seems fine. I have no probs with my E6600 @ 3.2. I heard RAM is an issue, but I'm not really concerned about that right now. Besides, it looks killer and has 3 PCIe's.

Overclocking is EZ mode and EVGA has a great warranty. Theres not much you can lose going with this board, besides the RAM apparently - make sure to get that extended warranty.

Is your system stable on what ever RAM that you have installed. please post u r RAM timings and voltage. i currently own a BFG 680i motherboard and it seems it too falls to the same category of killing RAM's .. any video related activity that i perform crashes the system. i have 2 posts in this issue in video and OS section. i wasnt knowing that the board is a culprit as far as RAM is concerned.

can u please give me some details...

I have Corsair XMS2 PC2-6400 Dominators, 2gb @ 840mhz. 5-5-5-18. Right now my voltage is at 2.2. The board only reportedly kills ram at 2.2 and above. So keep it at 2.1 if you want to save it. No idea about the BFG board. It runs cool at 35'C with the Scythe Ninja. Most instability I've found with this board has to do with RAM and the ratio to FSB. Haven't had it for that long but I'll keep ya updated.

Yeah. I have the eVGA 680i and have had it for a couple months now and it's pretty great.
My rig:

E6400 @ 3.6GHz
vCore 1.55v
vFSB 1.5v
vDimm 2.3v (it probably is killing the RAM (Corsair XMS2 Dominators DDR2-800) but they're at 900.)
vMCP 1.525v

The RAM and FSB are at a 1:1 ratio and it is stable enough. It is only unstable when pushed above 58C (Orthos and TAT only). I've got a Thermalright Ultra 120 and it has a little problem with the NB heatsink but it all works out. the headers are in tight spaces if you fill all of the PCI and PCIe slots. I would recommend it though.

I have the eVGA 680 board with a e6600 running at 3200Mhz
4 X 1024 Crucial Ballistix 4-4-4-12 PC2-6400 running 1:1 synched and linked so actually they are running at 710Mhz 2T.

The vcore is at 1.39v
vFSB 1.3v
vDimm 2.075 (Undervolted and runs great and in fact since it's not running at the full 800 MHz I have it at 4-3-3-9)
vMCP 1.525v (or which ever is the absolute lowest not sure now)

Other info from my bios if I can remember:

I had the settings for my eVGA 8800GTX turned on linkboost and the other but again never noted any difference except my video card ran hotter. But stability wise no difference.

I have most of the power saving features on in the bios as well. Once I had the system stable (and originally had them all disabled) I went ahead and enabled any of the ones that did not change voltages and multipliers ? you can see in the options which I mean in their description. Again did nothing for stability but at least if my system sits there for a bit I notice the temps go way down.

By they I use a Tunic Tower and my idle is 29c and it reaches 45c on Orthos for 2 hours.

Power supply is currently an OCZ 700 but I was running an Antec NeoH 550 before and both worked well.
