I can't seem to find any answer for that in any of the reviews I've found.

But apparently it overclocks quads like a beast, for an SLI board.

I wonder how the bios on the 750 is, if it's more similar to the 790 than the 780 it's gonna be a nice OCer, otherwise well I have no problems with my 780i but the board is known to absolutely suck at OCing.

On the other hand, krnmastersgt, your quad has twice the OC of my dual-core

It has two full x16 PCIe 2.0 lanes. (Both physically and electrically)

Lol, I run it at 3.2 for the sake of saving energy, but I like knowing that I can run it at 3.6 if the need arises

even 3.2 beats my dual.

I've never gotten it stable over 3.0. Period.

I don't know how much of that fault is in the particular CPU chip and how much is the 680i, but I'd imagine both are partially to blame.

From what I read bout the 750i it's a pretty good board for the cost. I really wish I could of found one locally when my 680i died so I wouldn't of had to spend the money I did for my 780i, but it's all good. If you want SLI and are on a budget I would recommend the 750i. The review I read of the MSI board put it pretty high up there and it oc'd very well and performed on par with it's bigger brother.

Quad cores yea. Not dual cores. I run mine at 2100MHz (QDR)

So when in SLI, both lanes still run in 16x? I thought that wasn't POSSIBLE with the available 26 lanes the 750i chipset sports? Hope I'm wrong.

Hey Jax, I have pretty much the same cpu /motherboard as you, what are your voltage settings in your bios?

The Asus 750i board is like this as well. IIRC the actual 750i chipset does not have enough PCI-E lanes, however EVGA and Asus added a secondary Nvidia chip for the additional lanes, kind of like how Intel Skulltrail can do SLI.

thank you for the response. this is a deal maker/breaker for me. i've been trying to confirm. i have sent emails to EVGA, Anandtech, Maximum PC, PC Gamer. no one wants to dig this up for me.

Mine is still sitting in its box at home until I buy a CPU and vid card (patiently awaiting the CPU price drops for a 9550 and the release of the GTX2xx cards). Some things to mention on the board tho, as I highly recommended it to a friend who found the following:

1) The HDD led connector doesnt work on these boards, evga knows about it, but i havent seen anything about them trying to come up with a fix.
2) This may not be an issue for everyone but, it doesnt support a 3 pin (2 with a space between) connector for the power LED.
3) There is almost no support for the board around the cpu/northbridge area (holes for standoffs), so make sure you don't try to engage those stupid heatsink pins with the board installed. i cant imagine it not breaking something.
4) the SATA ports are an absolute pain!!! They are on the front edge of the board, facing the front of the case. In my case, this is almost in contact with the drive cage area, very difficult to connect the cables like this. You may want to consider plugging them in before installing the board.

These are the complaints he had with it so far, ohhh, and also the fact that he experienced the video corruption bug already, as well as a hard lock within 15 minutes of playing CoD4, so now I feel bad for leading him towards the FTW board, at least until eVGA fixes it properly. I pasted his comments, and I don't quite know his level of building expertise, but they are nonetheless things to consider when looking at building around this board.

My personal complaint is the mislabeled USB front header that the manual indicates and some early buyers have fried the port after plugging it in according to the manual. I'm sure the manual is updated, but double and triple check this online before frying either a board header or the front panel or even a USB drive.
