You should edit the thread title to reflect the new price:

 Good price. And gettin' better. In at $300.

Considering a 6800Ultra is still well over $300, this card will be old news when it reaches that price point.

I doubt it will ever get that cheap and even if it does (in two years), it won't get much cheaper than that. I am sure a new cheaper and less powerful version will come out soon to cover the $200-300 price range.

Ordered Sunday, got it on Wednesday for $507.70 shipped, now the price is up to $567.70 shipped. Good timing I think, until the price drops again.

Yeah I ordered Sunday as well and it still hasn't even shipped. WTF.

I talked to a guy at Monarch today after being on hold for over an hour he told me that they ran out of cards and that they will have more tonight. I told him if my card isn't shipped by tomorrow I want a refund.

it will be $300-$350 in 6 - 9 months. Or in 6 to 9 months a card just as fast will be $300-$350.

In 12-15 months it will be $200-$250 or a card that is just as fast will be released that's $200-$250.

You can pick up a Radeon 9800pro now for $100 a card that retailed for $400 when it was initialy released around this time in 2003. That's a 400% depretiation. You're kidding yourself if you think any consumer targeted video card card will hold over 50% of its value for longer than 12 months.

You're right the 6800 ultra is still well over the $300 price point, but how long do you think it will stay there once nVidia releases the better peformning 7800GT @ $400 on August 11th? And then the comparably performing/inevitable 7600GT @ $200-$250?

Don't fool yourself into thinking this won't happen. It's the nature of this buisiness.

By the way OP thanks for the find my bro want's a new PC just to play BF2, and you just helped me kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Hopefully you have a reason not to be an EVGA fan and are not making some unfounded comment. Their support and 1+1 year (an extra year warranty for registering your card) are awesome- the best around.

I hate Monarch because they take so damn long to ship. They are in Jersey and I'm in Delaware and I get things faster when I buy from California vendors.

I think that the falling prices are unlikely to go much below 500 dollars. I'm guessing that once Nvidia is done with the 6800 line, they will drop the msrp to 500. The 600 dollar msrp was so they could continue to sell the 6800ultra without the price dropping to much. No that many of the retailers have gotten rid of alot of their 6800 stock, they are probably dropping the prices to 500 for better competition. I don't see prices dropping below 450 anytime soon.
