 Good price. And gettin' better. In at $300.
Considering a 6800Ultra is still well over $300, this card will be old news when it reaches that price point.
I doubt it will ever get that cheap and even if it does (in two years), it won't get much cheaper than that. I am sure a new cheaper and less powerful version will come out soon to cover the $200-$300 price range.
it will be $300-$350 in 6 - 9 months. Or in 6 to 9 months a card just as fast will be $300-$350.
In 12-15 months it will be $200-$250 or a card that is just as fast will be released that's $200-$250.
You can pick up a Radeon 9800pro now for $100 a card that retailed for $400 when it was initialy released around this time in 2003. That's a 400% depretiation. You're kidding yourself if you think any consumer targeted video card card will hold over 50% of its value for longer than 12 months.
You're right the 6800 ultra is still well over the $300 price point, but how long do you think it will stay there once nVidia releases the better peformning
7800GT @ $400 on August 11th? And then the comparably performing/inevitable 7600GT @ $200-$250?
Don't fool yourself into thinking this won't happen. It's the nature of this buisiness.
By the way OP thanks for the find my bro want's a new PC just to play BF2, and you just helped me kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
