...and unlocked voltage and no TDP limit.

EVGA GTX 780 Ti KingPin Edition

GeForce GTX 780 TI KPE is something I heard about before the launch of the original GTX 780 Ti. Back then it was an acronym for Black Edition. KPE simply stands for KingPin Edition. Vince “k|ngp|n” Lucido is an extreme overclocker known for breaking many world records in GPU performance. EVGA teamed up with him again to make a new product, which basically is a GeForce GTX 780 Ti on steroids.

What is so special about it? 6GB RAM, no TDP limit and unlocked voltage. That’s why it’s refereed as a ‘new card’. At this point I don’t know if KPE is EVGA’s exclusive or is it actually a new model card from NVIDIA itself. Maybe that’s why we haven’t seen MSI’s GTX 780 Ti Lightning yet? Nevertheless, it’s good to see NVIDIA finally allowing AIBs to launch new models without pointless restrictions.

EVGA GTX 780 TI KingPin Edition will be released in December.

Should be a beast, but it must be a pretty good performer to be a recommend in comparison to the forthcoming custom 290X cards. I *hate* the stock 290 and 290X cooling, it's garbage. The GPUs themselves are crazy good though, so I'm really looking forward to seeing how good they are with a competent cooling solution.

Good grief, it only took 1 post.

Well, at least it wasn't in the OP.

Sounds like a beast...but without a price I can't evaluate whether it's a beast worth riding or one worth putting down

Please keep this thread on topic. The topic is not AMD R9 reference cooling.

Omg wow 6 and 12 gigs of VRAM!!! Now I can futureproof my pc for games next year at a premium price!!! I'll wait for maxwell or until I actually need that much VRAM. By then gpus will be faster and cheaper!!

Sounds cool, but will likely be even more expensive :C

Should have 2x 8-pin, cherry picked silicon, and double the already extremely fast VRAM.

Basically they are going for the undisputed 4k crown. (which I will feel is pointless then, the same as I do now)

However, I never discourage new product choices, even if they don't appeal to me.

I bet they liked the $1000 price point. Leave the DP intact as a reason to justify it, and wash/rinse/repeat Titan. No 6gig 780/780ti makes sense now.

It looks to be a non-reference card...I highly doubt NVidia as a company would release cards that include someone's Pseudonym in the title. Also the fact that Jacob was allowed to leak it means that EVGA controls the NDA, not NV.

If that is the case, then they already have a set price for each chip, so the cost will be 780ti+ HALO Tax + the cost of 3GB of DDR5 + the costs of improved circuitry, R&D, etc.

That's twice today you've made sense.

It does say EVGA 780ti in the OP. I was confusing it with a new nVidia card. Carry on.

Haha, even a broken clock, right?

I was leaning towards a new reference Titan with 2X 8-pin, but it looks like AIB custom 780ti it is.

On a side note, NVidia must still be fulfilling their side contract with EVGA to keep them exclusive after the GTX280 step-up and return debacle....

This is definitely more exciting than just a normal AIB tweak, as it provides an unknown. Usually we already know what a "factory OC" card can do, because people are already doing it themselves.

With the increased RAM and ability to draw more power, you cannot simulate this card.

It gives us reason to visit this sub-forum and discuss a new product if nothing else

How many more 28nm respins are we going to see? This is what, the fourth super high end GK110 SKU?

Is the kingpin going to be a line, or just one card? (hoping for step-up)

For now I'd say just this one card but if it sells well you never know. I'm scared to think what they'll ask in price on this thing. High end of the high end stuff.

Triple 1080p monitors is 75% of 4k, and 50% more than 2560x1600p, so it should help for multiple monitor setups as well.

I guess no Maxwell coming, unlike some people's crazy guesses, since Maxwell isn't even in NV's hands really.

There's no way that EVGA is going to let people use their Step-Up on this card. Unless something has changed, they only let you Step-Up to reference cards (e.g. non-Classified or other cards in limited quantities).

The bang for the buck is already suspect unless you really want that holiday bundle, and I shudder to think of the street price of this card. However, one thing that was sorely lacking was the 6GB VRAM. I think 4GB+ is pretty much mandatory at that level of card so the 6GB thing is a good move.
