Credit goes to Zero7 over at Obese Purse for the heads up.

Look for it here!

Forgot to add, is it worth it? I'm torn between a X1950Pro, 8600GT and whatever ATI's new lineup throws my way. I might buy and hold until some reviews of ATI's new cards leak.

If you check out the AT benchies, the 1950Pro beats the 8600GT in every game bench.

I've seen many reviews but the DX10 aspect of the card + Dual DVI + the latest news of HDTV processing being handled by the GPU might make it worth it for some people.

Comeon ATI, earn some of my money.... release some info!!!

Looking at the pirce, you can't find a 1950Pro anywhere near $129AR, am I right?

From a leak benchmark at the Video forum, RV630 are equivalent to 8600s. Which are disappointing.

These cards have incredible headroom on the core, if you are willing to overvolt them and put a better heatsink on them. I've seen a review at VR-Zone where they overclocked the core to over 1GHz, pretty impressive. However, the overclock is kind of scary, I wonder if it can be done in software with nTune or something like that.

I wonder if this will be with a MIR, most likely yes. There may still be coupons around for 10% off $199+, this may turn out to be quite a deal if you can get your total up to $199.

Get the X1900GT from newegg. Comes to ~$109+ship AR. It should perform better as its just a downclocked x1950Pro with slightly slower memory. The core can easily o/c to ~600Mhz.

From what I've heard, this is supposed to be an HTPC card more than a gaming card. That said, I've also heard that the 8600 doesn't have HDCP.

To be honest though, I'm not really sure how many people with a PCI-E slot would really have a CPU that couldn't pick up the slack. And anybody with a Core 2 would have more than enough power to do HDTV with any video card.

So even for an HTPC I don't feel like this is a big must have anymore. Even I can decode 720P h.264 decently on my P4 (thanks to CoreAVC, actually kind of funny because now H.264 runs better than Xvid at 720p on my machine).

If this GTS was this price I'd probaby get it anyway just because I don't need super awesome gaming horsepower anyway, but since the ATI cards seem to be faster than this thing (and cheaper in the case of the 1950gt) it doesn't really make a lot of sense to run to CC.

And DX10 support is nice I guess, except if it doesn't really have enough horsepower to run the DX10 games anyway it's a pretty moot point.

Holy ******, you mean to say a $200 card will outperform a $129 one? Who'd a thunk it?

if you look at my link, you will notice that egg has the 1950pro for $135AR.

Holy ******, Checking prices before posting? Who'd a thunk it??!?!?!?!?

lol, not to mention even though it's $5 more, a lot of people don't have to pay sales tax at newegg, whereas only a few lucky people get to do that at CC.

I'm also torn between a 8600gt and 1950 pro. I guess I'll just wait a couple weeks to see what AMD can offer, or at least release info about their products.

Nope. Opteron 165 here with a X1300. 1080i chops something awful. I have to boot up the xbox to watch shows recorded in 1080i off of NBC or CBS.

I was holding out for a 8500, but I think I'll bite on this. $15 bucks more than having a 8500GT shipped.

Everything I read says it supports HDCP.

Good deal only if you can get your rebate back. Too bad this rebate is actually handled by a company named Parago, Inc. I have very bad experience with Parago. Watch out!

I'm deciding between a 7900GS or 8600GT card. What would be the better choice for a new build within the next month?

I don't need a DX10 card right now, as I will probably upgrade next year to a better video card. Just need a card to hold me over and to game with.

The card is only good for HTPCs to be honest, you can get faster cards for cheaper for everything else.

DX10 support doesnt really matter, as the card will suck horribly in DX10.

CONFIRMED!

Went to CC and they had them in stock. I told the dipshit firedog guy about it and he looked at me like I was stupid. Right there, I said either get it out or let me see a supervisor. He took it out quickly, took it and rang it up....guess what...

$149.99 + tax came out to be $162.36

I will be mailing in my $30 rebate as well tomorrow. What is this 90 Days steup program? Can I upgrade my card in 90 days to a better card for free?
