Can someone tell me the oc limits on this card, so that I can set my Riva Turner accordingly?

Thank you in advance for any advice!

most 8800gts i ve seen oc to ~ 800 core / 1800shaders / 2000 memory some higher some lower, depends on your luck of the draw.

Every card overclocks different, even identical cards, made by the same manufacturer. Overclock it yourself, and find out its limits. Don't use the overclock settings that someone else has on his card, because those can be unstable on your own card, and you can kill it.

Thanks for the advice error8! I have done this before with Riva Tuner just not this particular card so I know the oc process.

What do you use to OC it?

Rivatuner.
As someone had suggested...
Be careful and know what the hell you're doing.
Otherwise the card may be RMA'ed back to eVGA.
However...you're still ok as long as your card is registered with eVGA.
That's a safeguard i like about buying from eVGA, knowing the card is still guaranteed under extreme over clocking.

800 on the core is probably too high to start out with. The core is already factory OCed by about 20-25 MHz, and to jump 130 MHz right out of the box might be a bad idea. The core will probably go to 700-750 on stock cooling, but I'm always amazed at people who are disappointed when they can't OC their GPU 100+ MHz. If thats what you want, just be reasonable and buy a faster card.

The memory is rated to run at 1 GHz (2 GHz effective), so you have a "free" overclock there (its set at 972 by default). I think you can set RivaTuner to link your clocks, so your shader will be OCed proportionally with your GPU.

Why would the memory be set lower than it's rated?

I do appreciate that info though, I plan on getting a pair of 8800GTS in the very near future... and I guess that means I can shoot a bit higher for my memory clocks than 1GHz

If I were you, I would not go higher than 1ghz on the memory clock.
Heat is the issue when you o/c.
I do realize my 3dmark06 was clocked at 1030 but it was looking for trouble and I did it to see how high I could push the card for a brief moment and I eventually did back down to 900 and stay there.

I don't know why, but I've had several cards like that (GF3, GF4, etc.), and I always tell myself its not really even overclocking to run the memory at its rated speed rather than Nvidia reference for the particular card.

At least it gives you a starting point and/or small "free" overclock...

I'm running my EVGA GTS8800 512 at 700/2000/1748, and have played Call of Juarez and Crysis with no problems.

Haven't had a chance to really spend time with this card yet, but I've got mine running stable in crysis at core - 770, shader - 1898, mem - 2203. I know I can push it a lot farther too just havent really had a lot of time to mess with it yet.

My OC is in my sig. I could go a little higher, but this is a very stable OC for me.
