EVGA 8800GS is good enough?

Guys I have GS 8800 which developed some issues with Windows 7 and I RMA'ed it with EVGA, I am expecting EVGA to ship the same model of the card to me. Just wondering if this card is good enough for current games. I would like to upgrade to a ATI card but want to do it sometime next year.

I will never understand these types of questions. you are the only one that can decide what is good enough for you. your cpu, res, and amount of system ram can also have an impact on gaming. if you are happy then its good enough. if not then look at your overall system and see if anything else besides just the card needs to be upgraded for the games you play.

So you will be gaming at 1920x1080.
And thats a good system by the way.

How much you looking to spend?

Edit: the 8800gs is very low end (slow) for 1920x1080 resolution.

Low/med perfomance about. 100$
med perfromance 170$
high perfomance $200 to 350$

wow you have a really nice rig already. I would just go with a faster card right now if you want to run games at 1920x1080.

My rez is at 1920x1200 and my system is much slower e5200 @ 3.4 w/4 gigs and my xfx 8800gs choked big time on games like bioshock, farcry 2 (lower settings), etc... w/ 4850 it made a big difference. Be sure to go with a card with more than 512 megs memory. Good luck...
