EVGA 8800GT 512MB @ MC $224

Microcenter has the non-overclocked version for $224. Lately MC has had some of the best deals I've seen in a long time. Run, don't walk, to get this as I'm sure they'll go quickly.

This is the fully stock clocked version as mentioned. Between you, me and the wall, IMO all the cards are exactly the same, so terminal clock speed will be determined purely by luck of the draw.

If anyone buys this, don't forget to register the card with EVGA within 30 days or you forfeit the lifetime warranty!

BTW, no tax to me and shipping would run around $6, so pretty hot at $230 shipped.

ya may have to make a trip to the local microcenter now @ lunch. Any idea on if the prices will drop much more one the 9000 cards are out? I've got a 7900gs now and this would be a welcome upgrade.

I also wanted to point out eVGA has the step it up program, where if a new card is released within 90 days of your purchase, just mail in your old card and pay the difference and you can get it. So if you were planning to get a 9800 series anyway, there's no reason not to get the 8800 gt now if you don't already have it.

Warbean here is the problem with step up, evga's prices are normally 100+ more than others and in certain cases it would be cheaper if you just bought the card.

They have some quirks such as not having realtime stock. This is probably because they ship from the closest store to you. Seems like many stores that aren't purely internet-based have these kinds of problems. As people on the internet tend to be impatient, hence bad ResellerRatings. That's my 2¢. Keep the change.

I picked up one from the Tustin store yesterday lunchtime. He had to go into the stockroom as they hadn't even got them on the shelves yet. The one I got was the newer 8800GT with the larger fan.
