Huh? You mean what I said in nRollo's thread? That was because as of yesterday (when I posted) there was still an embargo on the GTX+.

AFAIK it isn't BFG. I don't know why BFG GTX 2XX cards are so high priced at Newegg. We checked pricing yesterday and were scratching our heads over it. Then again Newegg still claims the BFG LS-series power supplies have a lifetime warranty (they don't, only a 5 year). We've made repeated requests to them to fix that, but they still haven't weeks later.
On the flip side, BFG has the lowest priced 8800 GTS 512MB on Newegg, at $160 AR FS.

EVGA doesnt adjust the initial MSRP. That $329 was the original price from when the GTX first came out. Obviously, the market itself has adjusted the price but EVGA has no need to adjust it. The reason the GTX+ is so low in comparison is because Nvidia purposely set it that way to compete with ATi/AMD.
You can get a GTX (stock clocks) at Newegg right now for $199. The next lowest with lifetime warranty (crucial IMO) is the BFG for $209. EVGA's once plentiful line of SC, KO, etc. clocked line of GTX is conspicuously absent now as well.

the vanilla prices will soon fall once the gtx+ hits the streets.

I dont think this is the case actually. This is unwise from a business point of view. This is what I have been getting at with my observations of EVGA's current supplies of regular GTX's. EVGA has let them dry up suddenly and will replace that stock with the GTX+ and its SC, KO clocked versions at the $199-220 price point. It would be foolish to keep saturating the market with cheaper $150-170 GTX's. I think you will just see GTX inventory dry up only to be replaced by GTX+ at around the same price level. There are already less GTX models on Newegg and EVGA has NONE in stock or listed - that wasnt an accident. Anything else would be foolish business although it would be cool for the consumer. It is all profit driven. The only chance you will see really low GTX is for those retailers who have a ton of inventory they need to move and nobody is buying them because GTX+ is out. Most places like Newegg have sophisticated automated inventory systems to avoid these scenarios. Vendors will most likely transition fairly well from the GTX stock to the GTX+ while keeping the overall price point right around the same levels.
