I don't know if this matters, but it says it's OEM, I guess this is card only?

Is there anyone actively selling the 7900 GS (other than the Woot launch which hasn't made it to shipping yet IIRC)?

In the Woot thread somebody mentioned that it would start selling August 30th through the retail stores.

Found this at Circuit City...

Click me!

Also, search for $15 off $100 coupon (on eBay for $0.99 or free in coupon forums) to sweeten the deal!!!

Also, make sure to use the special "Back to school 3% FatCash" link to get 3% back from FW on this deal!

I will pay about $118 after all rebates and % offs and the use of a $15.00 off $100.00 coupon.

Looks like it runs faster than a stock 7600GT also!

Found this after seeing my cancellation from ATI on the 1900 AIW deal! :-(

Seems like a pretty good deal for a 7600 GT card. I really like the black color of the card (not that it really matters that much! )

Tax :-( but you can get FatCash back!

Mine came out to about $153 shipped before rebates. I am a bit concerned however, because the second rebate for $20 comes up as invalid when you try filling it out online, though supposedly you can print it out and mail it in. A Circuit City store rebate has the distinction of being the only store rebate that I have not received.

The reason is that the original rebate was slated to start and end yesterday. CC has created this one for the rest of the week.

I've never missed a rebate (had to call throughout ATI Corporate HQ one time for about a month but I finally received it. The ATI check was a special cut rebate check. The website was never updated that a rebate was sent and they actually sent another $20.00 check over two years after I had cleared the first one).

I have no doubt that I'll get this one too!

By the way, mine has already shipped.

I used to think that about rebates... years worth of always getting them (even if having to call or resubmit) until a couple of terrible experiences all stemming from this past Black Friday.

I quit doing rebates from Black Friday about two or three years ago because of headaches of rebates. I would rather avoid rebates altogether but I needed a card and this one caught my attention (I wish I had ordered the 7900 GS from woot but waited too long). I want a QUIET system and it was between this and an X850XT card. After ATI cancelled the order for the X1900 AIW cards, I decided that NVidia would get the business this time!

Good luck Zap!

It's being replaced with an Arctic Cooling NV Silencer 6 version 2. It's been confirmed (by several reviews including one on Newegg) that it will fit this card and is extremely quiet (my other Silencers are also). Also, I like the air being exhaused out of the case!

Good idea. The X850XT can get super noisy if the fan ramps up but never does on mine even after it is artifacting - have to manually speed it up using utilities. Even at a low speed it has a growling noise to it.

I have an eVGA 7600GT in one system here - it's the larger cooler model from Newegg. It's reasonably quiet but still noticeable when in 2D mode. I know exactly when my wife starts up WoW even if speakers are off because I can hear the fan kick up in speed.

In my main rig I have an XFX 7600GT similar to the one at CC, but not the black PCB. It uses the small copper cooler with that little blower and it is WAYYY noisy even in 2D. In 3D the fan kicks in and my gawd, you can hear it in the next room with the door closed.

How does this compare to the PCIE X850XT? Newegg has it now for $116 + $6 shipping.

They seem about neck and neck overall. Opinions?

Sooooo tempted to get this, as I still have a $25 GC for CC, so that makes it a great deal. I was saving up for a Viewsonic 20" widescreen LCD but that isn't as easy to hide from the DW as the vid card would be.
