Is atitool the best tool for testing artifacts? I ran a few games (Halflife2, Dawn of War, and Halo) and did not see any artifacts. In fact I was playing Halo multiplayer for 3 hours last night without a trace of artifacts.

the cooler looks feels kinda cheap (at least the plastic casing for it). My 7800GTX's that had the quadro fx4500/7900gtx cooler are more solid. Anyone else notice how cheap the cooler is? It cools very well(30s-40s), but it just feels cheaper than the gtx and quadro series cooler.

What BIOS version do you have? In case you haven't seen, most people who cannot reach GTX memory speeds have a newer BIOS (.13). Downgrading to an older one (.08) fixes the problem.

I have the .08 BIOS and can only get to between 725 and 750 Mhz for the memory.

Okay, I take it back. When I first tried for 750 memory, I had a Half-Life 2 glitch, but I think it was unrelated. Now I can hit 750 core/800 memory and it runs Episode 1 just fine. I also don't see any problems while running 3DMark06. Cool.

Glad to hear it You would've been the first confirmed case of .08 that can't hit GTX speeds that I have seen.

On another note, back when Tiger Direct had the $30 rebate for a few days, a lot of people seemed really skeptical about how they handle rebates.
This rebate was through OnRebate.com, and it was by far the most impressive rebate process I've ever seen. It prints the completed form for you, along with a mailing label so you don't risk getting the address wrong. They had my rebate processed and approved within a day of the evenlope arriving, and they'll transfer the funds to me via PayPal.
Has TD turned over a new leaf or what?

Also, I see that the GTO is no longer on their website. Possibly a sign that supply is running down?

People have problems with onrebate because to properly process you have to pay them that no-rebate fee, otherwise they scour your rebate for a single error, trying to deny it, plus they dont allow you to do resubmissions. Just read up on them, i personally haven't had problems either . Just remember to follow every single step they mention and you'll get your money from them.

I finally received my rebate for the x-finity psu I purchased about 3 months back. OnRebate had the rebate processed within 10 days of receiving the upc and rebate form, but the process was stuck on payment pending for about 2 months until I finally contacted them. They paypal'd me within 3 days of my emailing them.

I think their process is tougher than staples easy rebate. The Staples Easy Rebate you just go to their website and fill in the code you received on the receipt that prints out after purchasing the product, and you wait about a month.

I've been through Staples Easy Rebates. I agree it seems great and perhaps it is, but they totally screwed up 2 of my rebates, were of absolutely no help, and 5 months later I am still dealing with it.

Thats odd, the staples easy rebate customer service was always great for me, even stuff I filed after the "submit bt" date, they validated .

Glad to hear you've had better luck than myself. Staples is a great company no doubt, but there Easy Rebate process has been anything but easy for me. Their submission to HP was missing a bunch of info (which I know I included), and their only advice to me was "resubmit." I obviously don't want to resubmit when the rebates are already outstanding with HP. Luckily I can call HP and I pretty much have things sorted out with them. Unfortunately I still have yet to see my money.

Man, my card must suck.

I went to the .8 BIOS and I can reach 690/760, anything higher and ATI tool artifacts like mad.
Oddly enough, I set it to 700/800(a speed most people can seem to hit easily), and ran through 4 straight sessions of 3DMark06.
I watched the darn thing for artifacts and never caught one.

Is there some kind of problem with ATITool and Nvidia cards? With the yellow dot craziness I saw at those speeds in ATITool
I thought 3DMark would bomb out right away, but it never happened.

Any thoughts? Or did I just get the retarded card?

I've seen the same artifacts with ATI tools but @ 700/840. Backing off to 700/825 stablizes both 06 and ATItool but Iive been running mine @ 691/800 just to be safe.

.8 BIOS here. Detect optimal tops out @~670/~740. Crap. Manually setting to anything remotely decent (670/750) the driver reports errors in the test. Went to good old Rivatuner and set it to 690/800, and played a few hours of 2142. No probs. If that doesn't crash it, nothing will

I scored 66xx in 3dmark 05 with my GTO at stock. that score seems low to me, my rig is in my sig.
The quick specs are 3000+ venice @2.43ghz, 2gig ram, stock GTO, asus a8n5x. I will dl 06 at work and try that tonight when i get home. I havent tried overclocking yet either..
