Hmm looks pretty hot - Im assuming you got this from pricewatch,

and bearing that in mind - the next lowest price is $199 so that seems pretty hot.

At that price it seems like a typo though.

Not that hot since the lowest listed GF3 TI200 is $108 plus shipping. The reason the price is so high is because they stopped making the Ultras a long time ago, when prices were still high and it looks like the stores haven't really lowered the price that much on their remaining stock.

i agree - not hot - you'd be better off getting a gf3 ti200 or even (one of the better) gf4mx cards

It is NOT a typo. We were notified of this pricing by eVGA earlier last week. The card is nice because it has the Video-Out feature, and the option for a Video-In module as well. However, at $99, you'd be better off fending for a used card in the FS/T forums, or picking up a GF3 Ti200 (if you can find one for under $120 or so)

geforce2 ultra benchmarks

...about 5-10% faster than a geforce 2 ti.
depending on which benchmarks you look at its still 10-20% slower than a geforce 3 ti 200.
the extra $10-20 for the geforce3 ti should be worth it, for those extra dx8.1 features.


In theory, the ati 7500 can beat it alot of cards, but in real game benchmarks, the ati 7500 loses to even a geforce2 pro.
Kinda makes you think its a driver thing, or ati cripple it for some reason.

Actually, a Geforce 2 Ultra should perform on par with a GeForce 4 MX.
I agree though, either a Geforce 3 Ti-200 or a real GeForce 4 is the way to go.

Well, they are the manufacturer of the cards, so I trust their reliability (you can find their nVidia-based products on the shelves of many popular retail stores)

Anyways, if anything IS to go haywire, I live a couple miles away, so I'll just go and pay them a visit on your behalf, LOL

I get $10.86 for shipping, so the total from this Yahoo store is $109.86 for the GeForce2 Ultra with DVI. The GeForce3 Ti 200 with DVI sells for $109.99 plus $10 shipping (that's a "Buy It Now" price from "a popular auction site"). The same Yahoo store sells a GeForce3 Ti 200 with DVI for $128 shipped. Even though the GeForce2 Ultra is about as fast as the GeForce3 Ti 200 using today's games, the added features of the GeForce3 Ti 200 ensure that it will have a longer useful life than the GeForce2 Ultra. So, given the small price differential, I don't think it makes sense to buy a GeForce2 Ultra, even though this is a low price for an Ultra.

I currently have a Elsa Gladiac MX (Geforce2 MX) that I was upgraded after an RMA of a Elsa Erazor X (Geforce SDR) took over a month to get shipped out. I also recently bought a Cornea Systems CT1702 from ecost.com for ~$770. I was interested in getting the Geforce3 with DVI because the LCD has DVI inputs. I was wondering if the DVI feature really does make it worth it because I'm pretty happy with my current card but would like to use the monitor to its full digital potential.
