EVGA is so WIN with that card design, hope their doing crazy amounts of them because it makes sense.

Id almost be willing to bet this card sells more than the 590 will.

Im kinda taken aback that AMD hasnt done a 6850x2 dual card either, that would make alot more sense than the 6990.

I'm a long-time lurker of this site, and I really want to know if this is SLI compatible with a regular 1GB GTX 460!

Can anyone estimate the price?

*IF* EVGA sells this for 290$ and useing some good marketing,
then watch the 580, prices crash.

With nvidia *not* being able to do 3 monitor setups without 2 gpus, a dual card makes alot of sense.
3D surround thingy nvidia has instead of eyefinity, will be a decent selling point.

Makeing it "clear" to the avg user that this card is faster than a single 580, will make it a hit with the not to informed people. They ll see the benchmarks, and go 1 card > another card, and it costs like half the price of the 580.... Im getting it.

That is a very smart move on EVGA's part.

512bit memory bus with 2gigs of ram should give some nasty performance.

Dual 8 pin connectors? Is this the best they could come up with @ 375W? Or, possibly they are 2 different cards?

Edit: Nope. Followed the link to the product page with more pics and it does have 2x 8pin connectors!!!

Wow Evga mod asked what was a fair price and people are going 400+ $.

' when you can get a single 460 for like 140$.

I guess the marketing, showing it against a 580, will make it popular amoung those less informed, and evga cash in a huge earnings off it.

This is a long card at 11.5 inches, don't think it would fit in my case. Doubt my PSU could handle it anyways, looks like an awesome performer though. I take it this means the 460 is not going EOL?

It says right in the specs 11.5 inches.

What I dont get is... when this thing is so easy to market, because its 1 card and you can show it beating a 580, and its easy to over charge to the less informed ect.

why hasnt amd made one of these with 6850s ?

AMD needs card makers like EVGA, with balls to do super oc versions that are insane ocs, and do crazy designs like this card.

I think I am out of touch with reality. But how exactly does that make sense when you can get 2x HD6850s for $300 or 2x GTX560s for $400?

Also, 1 PCB is cheaper than 2 PCBs. :hmm:

I suppose there is a niche market for people who are willing to pay extra because they have a small case that won't accomodate 2 cards. But it just seems a little unfair to charge them a premium for what is essentially the same 2 GPUs in a slightly different package.

Well, MSRP is $180.00 for the 460 1gig. So, x2 is $360.00. Although there's conjecture that the 460 @ $180.00 is a money losing proposition. If so then why come out at a price that not only would lose you money, but also drive down the price of the 500 series cards? Especially directly comparing it to a $500.00 nVidia card! I'm lost on the logic of this.

This card makes sense if it comes with 2gig RAM per GPU. Especially since they are marketing it as a multi-monitor card. They could then charge a premium for it. Although not too much because 2x6950 will still eat it's lunch @ surround resolutions.

Sorry, read further on the product page and it appears to be 2gig total RAM.

It has an SLI finger but according to Jacob, Quad SLI is not supported. SLI finger was part of PCB design (not removed) prior to going into production.

Depending on the cooler, and then there's hoping the VRM's are up to it.

Yep, will be interesting to see under the hood. Gigabyte, MSI, ASUS, all beefing up power phases on non-ref designs, will be interesting to see EVGA throw their hat in. I bet they took a conservative approach to keep costs down though. At least an extra 100MHz hopefully.

Someone linked us this picture in the 590 rumor thread insisting it a was a GTX 590.. oh... that's right..

Cool card, but they should of used two 560s, unless they are pricing this @ $350. Otherwise just pick up a couple GTX 460s for $350 that will overclock better than the two gpus slapped on one PCB. Smart way to try and lay off some excess 460 stock.

Badass cooler though.
