And stop saying that AMD has quad scaling working while NV doesn't. Nobody has ever tested NV scaling at eyefinity/surround resolutions yet, the highest tested was 2560x1600, and at the resolution no vendor has a quad setup that is a worthwhile investment.

Yes it has been tested, and no it didn't scale.

By the way, Nvidia has a faster, single gpu king, its the gtx 580 , with more mature drivers. I'm pretty sure that AMD's quad crossfire also just came out yesterday, and we are not using a Oct 10' 5970 crossfire X as current status quo ?

The point was that EVGA didn't really make a mistake by not allowing quad sli with this card.

Ok, maybe they didn't.
I think thats also about positioning. It allows Nvidia driver teams to skip fine tuning a combination, a performance level that they would rather sell you in a gtx 570 SLI or tri sli. Which would give more consistent results across more games most likely.

well technically all that means is that it uses more than 300 watts.

All what means? Just having the connectors doesn't prove it uses more than 300W. Just that it can be supplied more than 300W and not be out of spec for the connectors. If it does use more than 300W Where the heat's going is my point. It all goes inside of the case. You're going to need some excellent airflow from your case to deal with that.

What I dont get is... when this thing is so easy to market, because its 1 card and you can show it beating a 580, and its easy to over charge to the less informed ect.

why hasnt amd made one of these with 6850s ?

AMD needs card makers like EVGA, with balls to do super oc versions that are insane ocs, and do crazy designs like this card.

this is like the sapphire 4850x2. it was designed by evga, not nvidia. NV and amd only made sandwiches for high end cards.

you would have to be a very ignorant person to spend 429 for this when you can get 2 gtx460 cards for 100-125 bucks less. people will buy almost anything though...

EVGA are robbing people blind with that price... (asus 460 DirectCU is 130$ with MIR) 2 of those would cost you like 260$!!! vs this thing thats the same costing 429$!? thats a 65% price differnce...... right into EVGAs pockets.

512bit memory bus with 2gigs of ram should give some nasty performance.

You meant 256-bit bus and 2 GB VRAM. Memory bus is not doubled when you SLI/X-fire. I expect it to be as fast as a single GTX570, but we'll see. :sneaky:

2x 460's in SLI are faster than a 570 (480).
So why would you expect that?

it ll be faster than a single 580.... the point is just evga are robbing people, those un-enlightend ones that dont know you can just go out and buy 2x single 460s and SLI them to get same performance for much less price.

Again, missing the point. Its not about SLI SETUPS ffs. This card is marketed towards those who want multimonitor gaming and don't have setups for multiple cards.

Okay maybe within 5-10% at most better perf than a single GTX570, just my guess. Let's wait and see.
